Just wanted to take a moment to introduce myself. I am Todd, aka toddztoyz, I was able to purchase my dad's ZHP convertible back in March, before his passing the beginning of June. This is my fifth BMW and my daily driver. I had previously owned an E28, E30, E36 and an E83. I have always wanted an E46 and when it was time for my dad to retire and stop driving, I bought his so I could drive him around in it to his doctors apoinments and out to the gun range to do some shooting. He was 74 years old when he passed and he is the reason I have a passion for cars. He raced Saabs in SCCA back in the 60's and was a British car nut owning Jaguars, Triumphs, and Austin Healeys.

My car is a 2006 ZHP convertible in Alpine White with Camel Leather, black cube accents and black carpet. It has just turn 140k and she is still strong. I have serviced the automatic transmission at 112k, replaced the entire cooling system (weakest link in these cars) along with drive belts and tensioner a month ago. I replaced valve cover gasket, oil filter housing to block gasket, both transformers on the xenon headlights and repair wiring inside headlight housings. I also replaced both front lower control arm bushings too. Serviced the entire fuel system and replaced all vacuum lines and both upper and lower intake boots. Also serviced the Disa valve too. I replaced the MAF and did a drop in K&N filter.

Upgrades for now are the factory convertible wind deflector, bluetooth enabled radio with steering wheel control integration, Glossy Black painted ZHP wheels, xenon foglight bulbs, and painted calipers.

I do all of the work on my cars and have purchased the PA soft software and a Bentley manual. I have 8 cars, yes I have an addiction problem to cars! The wife drives a modded out 13 Camaro SS, Black with Hugger Orange stripes. I have a 15 Silverado Rally Sport package in Red with Black wheels and Black stripes, an 02 Mitsubishi Lancer ES, an 86 Monte Carlo SS (matches the wifes Camaro), a 78 Pace Car Corvette with 4speed, a 65 Austin Healey Sprite in need of complete restoration, and lastly a 1970 Toyota FJ 40 Land Cruiser that is also a project.

See! I am a carnut and I have issues!

Hope to get to know you folks and try to help out when I can!

Thanks for the warm welcome guys! I am thoroughly enjoying reading some of the posts and info from other owners as I sit in my recliner recovering from knee surgery last Thursday. I am not very good at laying around, and only rest when my body gives out. I found the group searching for more info on my ZHP and google seemed to always point me in this direction and the info has been great! I want to thank you all for allowing me to join this group and hope to share some of my years of experience with past BMW's as well as anything else that runs on gas!

Btw my 74 year old mother tears down the roads here in South Alabama in an 04 325Ci, Imola Red with black 17" sport rims! People are stunned to see this little old lady jump out of a car that a 30 something year old might drive! lol As you may see the car bug is a family thing, two generations deep!!

Welcome Todd. You will enjoy it here.

I know the Alabama Wiregrass; a couple of my kids were born there. I lived in Enterprise from 83-84 and at Mother Rucker from 87-89. I look forward to driving through to visit the area again some day.

I was here then too. I began autocrossing at Hunt Stagefield Spring of 86. This is where I really learned how to drive. I moved to the Atlanta area in 87 and then moved back to Enterprise in 90. Now I work for the Maintenance Contractor at Rucker with Flat Iron Medivac. Love it out there.

Ironically, Staunton Virginia is my birthplace! I really miss the Blue Ridge Parkway/ Skyline drive area! My dad and I spent a lot of time driving his 1961 Austin Healey"Bugeye" Sprite up through there. If you ever pass though here, let me know! Things have grown a bunch around here and at Fort Rucker!

I did not know they autocrossed at Hunt Stagefield; I use to train in the UH-1H out of there. I snow-birded with Flat Iron between courses in 88-89 and have some good stories and memories flying out of Cairns. I also learned how to fly Mohawks there. I drove by Staunton this weekend. I was up in the Catawba area west of Roanoke; beautiful country. I will definitely let you know if I am in the area. I have heard of the growth and would like to see it after 30 years.
