View Full Version : LSD and Dynamic Stability Control (DSC)
Wondering what the best policy is regarding DSC on my car since having installed an MFactory 3.38 helical LSD. How do they interact?

They dont like each other. Look in the BMW coding section on setting the DSC properly similar to an M3.
Thank you! I won't have access to coding for the foreseeable future. Turn it off for now?

DSC/DTC actually should interfere less with the LSD during normal driving as you'll have less wheelspin. derek's right about the coding, you should check that out. i want to try it as well - i want a bit more 'freedom' before it kicks in. typically i just disable DSC when i want more slip, and DSC + DTC off when i want to hang the rear end out.

I find DSC very annoying with the LSD...always kicking in when I don't want it to...

Dan and I both noticed it kicking in during our track day. I asked the instructor about turning it "down" or off but he suggested leaving it on for safety's sake. (He was a Miata driver ).

I highly recommend this:

DSC is so nice and pleasant now, I only need to kill it when I want to hang the rear end out, and its quick and easy with one quick push of the button.
