I need to rewire one of my xenons--the insulation is flaking off, and the red wire split at the zip tie. That's what I get for changing a bulb...

Anyone know the gauge of wire? Looks like 22.

Thanks!

Paul

I had that happen on the 550i - for the halo bulb - fixed it with 3m super 33. looks to be heat stressed.

As I understand it, they were required to use biodegradable insulation on wires not exposed to moisture (like in a sealed headlight), and this insulation becomes brittle quickly.

I had the same issue. Liquid electrical tape was my quick fix, still going strong 6 months later.

Paul, 22 sounds about right. It's a really fine group of wires.
