8.6 second quarter mile BMW out of the Chicago area. The car's build was finished earlier this year and they've been doing testing and tuning this summer. The goal is to eventually get below 7 seconds.

It's still a work in progress. The paint isn't original or perfect, he's just putting it together so it can be driven and enjoyed.

My only complaint with the bitchin TR6, is that if they put a BMW drive line in it, it's no longer original...so why keep those obnoxious Amber indicators?! At least shave them and put a custom clear lense. It just looks so out of place.

But man I bet that thing is as reliable as hell now that all the British parts have been replaced with a German drive line and American ingenuity ;)

Power is routed to the rear wheels via a six-speed sequential transmission and a carbon-fiber driveshaft. The standout feature of the Vantage GT3 is its wild aerodynamics package, which includes a massive rear spoiler and a shelf-like front splitter and fairly kicks sand in the face of the race-spec V-12 Zagato and its comparatively mild aero.

"Customers" refer to race teams that buy the car from AM. Many manufacturers do it to help pay for their development costs they also benefit from sharing race data, setup data and determining wear rates.

So a bunch of us had some fun on Saturday at a local airport. There was a timed autoX section that then fed into a 1/2 mile straight down the runway with a radar gun to measure top speed. Despite the radar gun being too old and slow to get truly accurate times (off by at least 10% according to everyone's speedometers), we had a TON of fun. I didn't run my car because I'm still undecided on what wheels to get next but I did get a ride in a turbo'd E30.

Here's Dave's turbo'd E36 M3 that I've been drooling over for months making a run and having a little fun afterwards. Bonus points if you can spot me towards the end of the video.

Ive thought about those wheels so many times! I cant ever find a set for sale though

There were sooooooo many non BMWs rocking those wheels at the Murietta VIP Tint meet a few weeks ago, prob replicas but still... Seems like the new fashion in SoCal
