My buddies 775HP 997 Twin Turbo I got to drive the other day. Thing is dangerously fast. I was in third at 8xMPH and barely touched the gas and was up in the 12xMPH range before I looked down at the speedo.

I do give him crap all the time about his GT3 orange wheels. I liked it better when he had on his black HRE 640's.

Porsche's are away and by far one of the most incredible cars I have driven. My buddies 775 HP 997 is tuned by a place here in Phoenix called Evoms. They are also the only US distributor of the Gumpert Apollo. Last year they took inventory of the very first Gumpert Apollo. I was able to see it in person. It actually had a plaque on the door that said "001". Pretty awesome. I am pretty sure that if I had some nice disposable funds, I would own one of these.

After they kitted out this Cayenne Turbo S with HUGE turbos(i am not joking about this, the new turbos barely fit back in the engine bay) and software, exhaust, etc.. they gave people rides in it. The EVOMS guys drove up with a semi trailer full of modded Porsches for one of Cars and Coffee events last year and then joined us at a local dragstrip where some of the fastest Porsches were in the 10's. Great bunch of guys and some seriously fast cars.

Seeing, and hearing, the Countach in person will make you fall in love. As Mark mentioned earlier, it was a radical design. And being created w/out the windtunnel, makes it even more iconic. Looking at pictures you don't realize how short and sloped the front end is. Overall I think it's a very masculine sexy car.

I'm not big into street racing either. They use multiple spotters and make sure that nobody will be in the section of road they do it in. It's still risky but, it's the safest street racing I've ever seen (if there is such a thing).

The Porsche is the sexiest hybrid by far. Heck, it'd still be sexy if it got 10miles/gal. I don't think I'll putting one in my garage anytime soon, even if I did have a few hundred thou to spend.

On another note, the whole idea that hybrids can be sexy makes me happy and sad at the same time. Happy that one day I could be driving a good looking and truly gas efficient car. Sad because until that day comes I'm stuck seeing Priuses (Prii?) everywhere.

thats a big 10-4 these people are in OK oil... lots of old money the chevelle SS was bought at barret jackson and when i took the pics while visiting my friend he had yet to sit in the thing and he had the thing for 2 months... sadly i no longer have access to those cars as my buddy who did all the maintenance on them and allowed me to drive them has moved up here to KC to work as shop forman for the local Bimmer dealer

Pics don't do the color justice Dane I wish you could see it in real life. It's actually a Ford color but the work that's been put into the prep, paint and finish work means that even if you parked it next to a Ford with the same color, this has way, way more depth and shine. I'm hoping it will be done before the next Cars & Coffee here (3.5 weeks) so I can get some decent pics.

Bodyshop dust. It's pointless to even try to detail the car right now since it'd just be a waste of time. Also, those are not the wheels that will be on the car. Those were just temporary during the painting.

That color is amazing! I can tell it was wet sanded during the paint process. Extremely clean! And it's going to look awesome w/ the gold wheels. I hope you get to take some pics too!
