Has anyone here own both or has tried both? If so, which one would you choose?

TSE3 all day long.
I am biased though, since I have one. :p

The BMW Performance one sounds nice, but it's not loud enough for my taste. I can hear the TSE3 at full song while on track, so I don't have to look at the tach to know when I need to shift. I could not do that with the OE exhaust because with the wind noise, it was too quiet. The Performance exhaust isn't much louder (if at all) over stock ZHP.

Do you notice any gains for the TSE3?

I also own a TSE3 and bought it for the same reason - so I could hear the engine on track. I love it! But I don't think it provides any noticeable power gains. The cats are still the primary exhaust limiters. It is somewhat lighter than stock, however. I'd guess 15-20 pounds.

Do you have a line on a BMW Performance exhaust? I thought they were basically cleared out.

I do, I bought it back then from another fanatic before the crazy blow sale.

I am thinking if I should get the TSE3 to replace it or cut my resonators.

Need the fam input!

As nice as the BMW performance exhaust looks, it is quite. However I wondered what it would sound like when headers were installed on the zhp.

I know the TSE3 and headers is a bad idea.

If all I am getting with the UUC is just sound. Then I might just cut the resonators on the car for more sound.

I can't help you since I've never done any exhaust work, but us know what you end up doing.

No gains that I've noticed.

This is definitely the case. Do not put headers on a car with a TSE3; your ears will bleed.

Cutting off the resonators won't make it much louder...

Yeah, probably wont be as loud as the UUC but definitely a bit better than what I have now.

hey daniel, what about the black vibrant muffler than bryant (FL116) just installed? loud enough? if i remember correctly, they are based in ontario, too - so it should be easy to get.

also, i'll take your BMW Performance muffler if you want to sell. :)

What they said. BMW Perf nice but too quiet. TSE awesome (but IMHO a little loud). I prefer something in the middle myself driving a vert, but given either/or, the TSE3 all day.

If sound is all that you're after, FL116 posted a great review of the Vibrant Streetpower muffler.

I'm going this route myself based on his review and sound clips . :)

But not much at all for the $$ unless you get it really cheap.

Guys, guys. I would have a hard time parting ways with my BMW PERF gear and you all know my car is all about that stuff. (unless the right price comes along...nothing like $199 tho, just throwing it out there)

Is it too lavish to have two exhaust systems??
