Hello Dane,

I have some bad news regarding a mafia member... Dave Richardson (just_george) has been having health issues recently and has been to the hospital a few times over the last few months... I haven't heard from him for about 3 weeks and he wasn't responding to messages and his phone was disconnected so I got a bit concerned and asked a friend to go over to his place to check, who was able to get his brother's number from a neighbor... Called up his brother and he said he's been in coma for the last 3 weeks and they don't expect him to recover...

Just thought I'd let you know... I'm praying he recovers but his brother said it's unlikely...

Not sure what caused the coma but he did tell me that he was having these events where he would lose consciousness and had to spend a few days in the hospital... He said it happened again last month so the doctors installed a heart monitor to figure out what was causing it... He also said he would be at his brothers place until he recovers and that was the last I heard from him...

I'm really sad to tell you that George passed away on March 10th. Keep his family in your prayers and thoughts as it's been very difficult on all of them, as you can imagine.

Fair winds and following seas George. You were definitely a good dude and a class act.

Dave will surely be missed. I clicked so well with him last year and was really looking forward to seeing him again this year. I will forever keep the "Remove After Flight" tag he took off his keyring and gave to me - as a reminder of him.

News like this always brings to mind a passage near the end of the Bible that's given me great hope when family members have passed away...

Revelation 21:1–5
Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away... He will wipe every tear from their eyes. Here's to hoping it's true, and that we'll have the mother-of-all zhpmafia reunions there (sans cars, I suppose, though it's possible we can make new ones - we'll have forever, after all, and the God of the Bible does seem to like creating stuff).

Cardiac arrest. Never came out of coma.
