So I'm planning on going around next week to a few local body repair shops to get some quotes on a few cosmetic defects that I need repaired and I was curious as to what I should be expecting to need to have done and what I should be expecting to pay. I have a few minor bumper blemishes, one from the previous owner, and the other from my mother moving my car and curbing my front bumper. I went to one shop where I use to live and they were trying to tell me that my issues were not repairable and that my only option was to replace both bumpers.. I find that hard to believe since these are fairly small problems and both bumpers are still completely in tact including the clips. I've attached a few photos. Also, I'm located in the PNW (Portland, Oregon to be exact) so if any of you are familiar with the area and know of any local reputable shops, feel free to fill me in as I am fairly new to the area. Thanks in advance!

Bumper and sideskirt? That should be an easy fix, both come on and off quite easily but if the life of your paint isn't near perfect it will be a PITA to blend into the quarter's
The sideskirt I wouldnt care about getting sprayed on or off the car but thats IMO, it sits quite low already & only a really bad paint job will show that it isnt "spot on".
Good luck!

First photo is of rear bumper and second is of front bumper. Paint job for both bumpers is only 4 years old as the previous owner had them resprayed. I figured they would be easy work. Thanks for your input.

Over the years I've gone to Active Auto Body in Portland. They do good work, but I have no idea how much the repair will run you.
Also, nice to know there's another Oregonian on here :hi

I'll have to check them out, thanks! And yes, it is, there isn't too much action here in PNW lol.

You do not need to replace both bumpers based on those images.
Visit some shops and get different quotes to compare the prices. You might be able to save some money as well if you remove the bumpers instead of having the shop do the work.

I thought about that and I'm considering it, it'll save me a decent chunk of the invoice!

Definitely fixable. I found a guy here who does P&B work at a few car dealerships. He lets me drop my car there for him to work on. Prices are very reasonable (cash only...). Perhaps ask a few dealers who they use.

Looks fixable. I asked my Indy to recommend a body shop. They always repair the bumpers whenever possible. Very happy with their services.

Excellent suggestion, you beat me to it. Find out who the local dealers use. Here in Chandler (outside Phoenix), there's a guy who does all the lease return touchups for the local mega-BMW dealership, and he's quite happy to do work for the general public, though it's a small percentage of his work. He's INSANELY cheap and does great work! Years ago I had the scraped-up "fang" on my Z4MC repaired by him. He R&R's the bumper to do it off the car. Totally professional, perfect job - $100. I almost shat, that's an insanely good deal.
