Haven't been able to figure out my light warning issue.

23735

The warning light only turns on if I turn on my headlights. If I turn the switch to just parking lights, no issue. If I turn on my high beams via the stalk, but no low beams, no issue. If I turn on my hazards, no issue. It's only if I turn on headlights.

I have switched all 8 bulbs and sockets left to right and the error doesn't switch sides. Fogs. Blinkers. Low beams. High beams.

All of my lights on the exterior of the car work. I'm stumped.

Headlight fluid is low. Duh.

There are 2 or 3 headlight control modules, each about $300, start checking each of those to see if one is failing.

Any chance it could we showing up due to a weak ground, given what you have tried with bulb swaps, etc? I had issues with one of the inner halogens going out and it turned out to be a problem with the grounding block near the front end of the fender well.

How would I do that?

I don't know what INPA is.

It is factory BMW diagnostic software that test various functions of individual modules.

Ok well I don't have free access to one. I guess I have to take it to a shop?

Check your wires on leading to the connector for the igniter. I have had similar issues from the wires in there becoming brittle, losing their insulation, and breaking. In fact it did it again recently and I have to re-solder it this weekend.

So my warning light turned off for about 10 minutes tonight. Then it came back on.

Any other ideas on that?

I didn't think halogen lights had ignitors. I thought that was only a xenon ballast thing.

Sorry, your right they don't. I was trying to say that you might wanna check your wires inside or leading to the headlight, because the repetitive heat cycles can make the insulation on the wires brittle. If that's the case here it might be causing a short only some of the time.

I've checked the wires best I can as far as I can. They all look fine to me :/

I wonder if doing a full factory flash on the LCM would do anything for you.. I've seen it resolve a weird issue I had once. You would need NCS Expert to do it though...
