Holy moly.
Heated Alcantara. So much win.
And on Elite Red as well! Er, uh, Imola. ;-)
In all seriousness, if my wife would have stopped popping out kids... this would have been a great one for her.
I just want to be like Vas with 1 black and one Imola.

They have had that on the Minneapolis Craigslist for awhile now.

Wow what a nice low mileage ZHP. I sent email to dealer to find out the price. I love the color and alacantara interior. Has nav too. Maybe I'll sell my daily F30 328 sedan and replace it with this rare find. Depends on price I could get for mine and price for ZHP.

auto transmission...waaaaah :,(

I would use as my daily driver. And in in DC, I want auto trans for DD. I found out price is $13,900. Does that seem like a fair price?

Great for a inner city/larger city DD. I'd love to get this for the GF.

$13,900 may be a decent price, as long as the car needs nothing. I bought mine one year ago and already put $3,000 into it. And I'm getting ready to spend another $1,000. Granted, mine has 140,000 miles already.

Spoke to the dealer. He agreed to lower to $13,000. Some facts:
- 51K miles
- 3 previous owners
- Automatic Transmission Replaced! With less than 1000 miles on the car in 2004. Seems that this is A BIG RED FLAG. Don't know if OEM. Thoughts?
- Carfax shows no accidents, 2 oil changes, one brake flush
- no other maintenance info available
- dealer says no warning lights on car
- Michelin PSS 50% worn
- some curb rash on wheel
- interior and exterior he says 9/10
-after market radio installed with Bluetooth

And the car is in Iowa. So I'd have to find a person or service to do a PPI.

Overall, many unknowns here. Makes sense to walk away? What would be worst case scenario if purchased? Seems could be a ton of maintence?

the steptronic is the nicest-shifting auto trans i've ever driven. and sport mode shifts are very well-judged. it's no DCT, but if you must have an auto, it's darn good.

PPI would be key. michelin PSS is a good sign.

Personally if I bought it, I would replace the cooling system, tires, brakes ( if needed ) and then the suspension ( shocks )

Miles are low but the car is still 12 years old and plastic gets old.

The transmission being replaced that low could have been some kind of issue when the car was new. It probably was done by the dealer and there are records for it somewhere. There is a member here that had an engine replaced by bmw at some point as well. As long as the documentation is there and no issues while driving, I would not be concerned.

I do not think it is a bad deal but also not the best deal. If it was such an awesome price, it would have been sold already.

Edit:

Also based on the images, it has

Clear lights
Euro Tray
Aftermarket pedal covers
Front Strut-bar
Aftermarket radio

Could have been owned by an enthusiast.

Besides that horrible radio, it looks like a great example i think.

Looks like there's a phone number for the place that did the transmission work, I'd call them and see if they have any info/documentation

As Vas said, I think you'll find age is as much a factor in maintenance for this car as mileage. I replaced pretty much all the same stuff on my car that I would have done if my car had double the mileage purely because of age. 10 year old power steering fluid, differential oil, transmission oil, spark plugs, pulleys, etc. So expect to put $1k or more of parts or so if you want to do full maintenance. Plus transportation concerns, you'll have a nother $500-1000 depending on if you drive it back or have it shipped, etc.

+1

All good advice here. If the transmission checks out, the car has a new transmission that shouldn't need to be touched for a decade.

CPO car, I like that.

Is CPO a good sign because the car would have to be in top condition to be sold as a CPO ?

Also, I wonder why the owner didn't perform additional maintence (past 13k miles, in 2006) while under warranty?

That can be true. But on the flip side it can also mean the person who used it before it was sold as a cpo probably leased it... And they might've abused the car cause they know they don't have to deal with whatever effect it might cause in the long term...

Looks like there is a claim for the transmission.

Might be or have led to the replacement.

So based off the PDFs above, and I may be reading it wrong: was the trans replaced by the dealer at 1200 miles?

I showed it to the GF and she's mildly interested, but not at 13k

Yes I believe so. Done under warranty. I still haven't completely given up interest, but I've not been pursuing yet due to high price and added $$$ needed for shipping and preventative maintenance that I'd want to do.

Also something interesting about this car is the gauge cluster. It looks like it has the M3 gauge cluster or overlays to make the factory one look M3

Kinda hard to tell. Wonder if the tamper dot is on.
