Hello all!
I've only recently become a BMW owner, about 6 months ago I bought an '03 330i that was in need of a LOT of maintenance. I was able to use the online world to learn and ultimately repair the car. My good friend liked the car so much he bought it from me (after I brought most of the maintenance up to current std).
Anyway, after initially hating the 3-series I had so much trouble with, I learned to love the cars and recently purchased my 2nd BMW - a 2004 330ci ZHP vert with Alcantara interior. I've gone thru some of the more complicated maintenance (VCG, Vanos, mirror ribbon issue) and I'm still learning my way around it. A previous owner swapped out the factory HK system (or part of it) for an aftermarket head unit and added a different sub box in the trunk. Most of the speakers sounded blown. One of my goals is to restore the sound system back to factory original. I rode in an '02 M3 recently and the HK system sounded amazing to me.
I've got a long history with cars, car audio, and motorcycles (including racing them). I've worked as an engineer and currently work in the I.T. field. I look forward to meeting/talking with all the forum members here and elsewhere. If I can help in any way with the experiences I've had with my 2 cars I will gladly share what I've learned (I suspect you all know way more than I do though!).
