Hello,

My name is John and I just bought a 2006 BMW ZHP Convertible with 50K miles. The car is being transported from TX to Florida as I type this. This will be my 5th silver BMW. My wife wanted me to get blue on tan but the only one I could find with under 50K miles had been in two accidents. This one had a clear carfax and I called the dealer that use to service it.

89 - 325IS - Gold - Best driving BMW - I bought it with 80K and sold it with 120K
99 - 328IS M Technic - Silver - Loved that car and put 125K on it
01 - X5 - Silver bought with 10K miles and sold with 130K
04 - 325CI - Silver bought new for the wife and buried it with 140K miles after I smoked the transmission
99 - M3 Convertible - Silver bought with 40K miles and sold with 90K

I have already started buying parts to make this car my own, clear bumper lights, some /M pedals, rear spoiler, front splitters, etc. Once the exterior is done I will go through the cooling and braking system. I know two of the rims will need to be refinished from curb rash but aside from that the car is really clean.

Look forward to asking you guys questions

Welcome, John. You will love this forum. Where in Texas did you find the ZHP ? I live in Austin.

Thanks for all the responses, you really know how to make someone feel wanted. To answer the questions above, I have been hooked on BMW's and old muscle cars for years. I just sold a 1970 442 restoration project as I didn't have time to work on it. So I decided another BMW would be a great replacement. I recently moved from Hopedale MA to Fort Myers Florida, which is the reason I wanted a convertible. I located the car online in Katy Texas at a dealer called Westside Cheverolet. They had it listed and priced as a regular 330CI convertible. For the price I talked them down to I just had the car shipped as it was too good of a deal to pass on. I am just hoping the car is as nice as the pictures and video as I didn't have time to fly out an look at it. For a new person like myself, what else would you recommend me do to the car other than driving and enjoying. What are some of the popular upgrades

Well the car arrived this afternoon. Aside from the wheel being curb rashed I can find no evidence of any paint work. There is a small chip on the hood which I will tough up and wet sand but other than that the body is clean. I also want to pick up two new tires for the back as they are a different brand than the front. As for the interior, it is extremely clean the only thing I could find wrong is the ashtray is missing the little chrome piece and it needs new floor mats, which I just ordered. I will post some pictures once I get the wheels sorted out

Sounds like a good find. I too recently joined the ZHP community finding a deal in my area too good to pass up.

Welcome from Naples! There is a autocross not far from Ft Myers, actually depending on where you are in Ft Myers it could be very close to you. They hold it the first weekend of each month. Gulf coast autocross.. I got my ZHP a few months ago , planning on trying to hit the autocross next weekend! A lot of great people there.
