I got an expansion tank cap from an E30 and put it on my ZHP. Had it on for a week now. Not much to report, other than I think it's a good replacement for the 2.0 Bar OEM cap. It's also a lot cheaper than the 1.2 Bar cap from GAS.

Part no: 17111742232
$17 on ECS Tuning

Here they are side by side. You can see the E46 one says "200" on the top and the E30 one says "140." The E30 one also says "140" in yellow on the inside.

I haven't tracked or pushed the car, but I see no reason why there'd be any issues at this point.

Been using a E30 cap for awhile now. Works just fine.

You have them installed or waiting to install?

I read an article on these being a good upgrade over the stock cap because of the Bar rating is lower which should keep you from blowing cooling system components.

Exactly. That was the whole point. That's why GAS makes theirs 1.2 bar.

But I know the higher pressure in the cooling system helps the engine run a bit hotter, as designed, for efficiency, so I think 1.4 is a good compromise between 1.2 and 2.0.
