Hello, i am new and havent done a proper intro but will do one soon. Got busy fixing new to me ZHP!
I was in process of rebuilding the disa using GAS kit but shocked to find out the whole bracket is broken off!
Fortunately the piece was just sitting there on the gunky residue.
I found some aftermarket ones on ebay for 140 or so shipped.
Anyone used it before? I was planning to get it and use the GAS kit that i already have to make it bullet proof.
or is it a better bet to get the Oem and return the kit?
Let me know your thoughts thx!
My wife's zhp had the disa assembly replaced with an aftermarket unit. I do not recall who the company is that made it but when I went to install the GAS DISA Kit into the aftermarket housing, I had some issues with fitment.
My suggestions is to find a used Factory DISA unit and then install the GAS Kit into it.

Yes. Go factory. Lots of e46s in junk yards. Use the GAS kit.

So just to update if anyone is interested...
I followed you guys' advice and went out to junk yard and pulled the disa from a 2002 530i in decent condition.
They only charged 25 bucks which is a great deal i think.
I rebuilt it using the GAS kit and i gotta say WOW!
I really notice the difference especially since i never had a functioning DISA in my car.
There is a definite torque increase in the lower powerband.
What really stood out to me is the throttle response, it really feels much more responsive than before.
So Thanks guys! the car is much more enjoyable.
On the other note, comparing aftermarket DISA that was on my car to the oem DISA,
the quality is night and day, the even material of the casing is different. No wonder it failed...
So to answer my original question, DONT GET A CHEAP AFTERMARKET DISA.
Stay OEM.

Thanks for the update, I'll keep that in mind if I ever have to replace mine.
