Does anyone know if there is a radio/nav unit that works with e39 cars with DSP? Thanks much! Just replaced my loved ZHP with a M5 and the stock navigation that looks like its running DOS needs to go!

Thanks for any help!

Get the Intravee II setup with an Alpine Ai-Net Imprint DSP Processor, PXA-H100 and you will have OEM-like DSP integration :thumbsup

Here's the thread and it's a good read :thumbsup

I do think he's looking for a complete replacement unit.

OP, are you looking at something that's equivalent to a Dynavin/Eonon unit, or are you only looking to upgrade the audio part of it? If only audio, Charlie's solution should work out perfectly for you.

I'm in the same boat, dude. The stock system is just a turd. Depending on what year your M5 is (i.e. if it's pre-2003) you can upgrade to the MkIV nav computer, which is DVD-based and faster than the III in the earlier cars.. but it's still a dog with fleas. The whole system blows, and I have the M-audio option.

Personally, I'd avoid the chinese replacements that have stock-like appearance. I read too many horror stories about the various models. The only thing I've done is transplant my CP600BMW cd changer emulator into it, and it's working great. Search for CP600BMW to find info on it. Good luck!

Define horror. I have one of them and while it isn't perfect, it's a lot more functional than a stock unit would ever be. It has its fair share of issues, but what doesn't. Nothing that's a complete dealbreaker.

My definition of horror: "has its fair share of issues". For me to spend money and rip out the stock system, it would have to have ZERO issues. Or very close to it.

No such thing. lol
At least in the OE-looking department. I don't have any experience with non-OE looking aftermarket alternatives.
