Hey everyone, I should have introduced myself first before I started posted! Car enthusiast from southwest Florida, have owned multiple Miatas used for fun and autocross down here. First time with BMW, can't wait to get my first ZHP! Glad to join my fellow enthusiasts! Excited to join the BMW family!

Welcome! I'm from Orlando and there are plenty of ZHPs for sale here for decent prices. What are you searching for exactly?

Thanks for the welcome guys, I'm looking for 04-05 sedan MT, thinking of upping the price range to 12-13k if I can find one with 80kish miles and good maintenance records, clean title. Blue is my first choice filled by silver, grey, white, black. I have had too many red cars and am trying to stay away from another. Need to find one in the next month or month and a half. FL116 where are you finding them in fl? I have seen a couple but they have slipped away before I could pull the trigger. What's everyone thoughts on a cheaper one and fixing everything vs paying more and not having to?

Check the classifieds here or craiglist. You might have to travel out of the state though to find a car.

As far as the low miles vs high miles, find a car that has been maintained. Do a pre-purchase inspection on it. But alot of the lower mileage cars will need the typical items like tires, brakes, cooling system, etc done to them. You might be better off getting a car with higher miles. and paying less then a car with low miles and a high price tag.

+1

I said it in another thread, but I got mine with 49k miles but have replaced and plan to replace stuff that I would have done on a higher mileage car anyway, so theoretically I paid more than an equivalent car with 20-30k more miles with less maintenance. Nothing wrong with a car in the 80k+ mileage category as long as it's been well maintained and has documentation.

Anyone know what it costs to repaint? I really like the color of one and the price is on the side of being able to possibly give it a fresh coat of paint and it certainly needs it along with some other minor stuff, but I have seen prices all over the place when I googled reprinting a bmw. I want to keep the same color but just repaint. Thanks

Hey,

I just joined, but when I was looking around I also looked into this one. the owner's bottom line was $13,800 when I was looking at it last month. I almost picked it up July 4th, but I had some issues with his credit union and opted for a different one. The guy who owns it has taken care of it though. He is actually the owner of the tire/shop for this car dealership and owns an e36 M3. He bought the car for his wife who wanted a stick shift car, but ended up getting carpal tunnel so now he's selling it. There's no rust issues even if it was from Minneapolis originally. He said he bought it from a salesman at bmw up there who garage kept it. I might still have a VIN check if you want it. Can't speak to the price since I'm new, but maybe he's more negotiable now that the car has been up for about 6 weeks.

I'm on my phone otherwise I'd link them, but there are a couple of good threads on higher mileage and well maintained vs low mileage, and it's pretty much the consensus now that whatever zhp you find you'll have to put money into right off the bat regardless of mileage. All of them are at least 10 years old now. Expect $2-3k above purchase price of any of them, take that how you want...cough cough cheaper price and fix things. Unless it's been maintained, of course.
