Hi folks,

I am planning on doing a full power steering system refresh including the high-pressure hoses, bolts, o-rings etc. before winter hits us.

I went through the following E46F thread by 'Mango' and looked up the parts on RealOEM and ECS and came up with the following list.
http://forum.e46fanatics.com/showthread.php?t=996069

Question - do we know if our cars (2004) have the LF20 pump for sure? ECSTuning suggests we do but various threads I read recommended that I check manually to make sure.

Would appreciate comments/suggestions/feedback on my parts list before I order them.

I just refreshed those same parts on mine. The pump was an LF20, and I have an '04 as well. IF I am remembering correctly, my research showed that '04's all had the LF20. However, I suppose it is possible that a PO could have replaced with the other option??

Thanks! Did you have the exact same parts list? Anything I need to add/remove/modify?

I think that's pretty much it. 64508390601 came with my pressure hose, but it probably wouldn't hurt to have extra. Also, I would suggest getting this: http://www.amazon.com/CTA-3466-Steering-Transmission-Disconnect/dp/B009VI9P62/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1436723876&sr=8-1&keywords=cta+3466. It made disconnection from the cooler really easy.

Not replacing the pump - don't think the pump is a PM item. $261.53 from ECSTuning for everything else.

I'd tend to agree on not doing the pump as PM. I need to do hoses on Colin's car.

Opening up an old thread since this project is now on my line of sight. Anandoc....How did your project come along?

I could not locate the Reservoir P/N 32411097164 in RealOEM. But they do have the Reservoir in 3 parts. With the P/N provided, does it come with the Cover and Gasket Ring?

I will not be replacing Pressure Hose Assembly P/N 32416774215. But will replace the Radiator Return LIne and Pipe and the Intake Manifold. Items #1, #7 & #11. Plus the rest of the Gasket Rings and Banjo Bolts.

Thanks.

Thanks.

I got all the PS parts replaced (except for the pump) earlier this year. Got it done by an indy.

The reservoir that I used came with the cap and gasket. Here is the part number (32411097164):

Copy. Thanks. I'll see if I can do a price matching with GetBMWParts.com with ECS on the Reservoir.

Edit: BTW...How do those Disconnect Tool clamps work?

Goodluck. Let us know how the PS overhaul goes.

Not sure how the disconnect tool would work - I didn't do the work myself but got my indy mechanic to do it for me.

I will. But I need to get all of the parts together first. Punching another hole in my pocket. Placed a question on Random Question thread on how the Disconnect Tool works. I will probably get one of this.

BTW, how many Quarts of Redline D4 P/S Fluids did you use????

Is it CHF or ATF reservoir does the ZHP use?
