Hi all, I've checked here for all sorts of fun facts and info on my 330 since I got it 2 years ago, and finally decided to join. I've owned an 05 imola zhp for about 2 years, its my 5th bmw, I've had an 89 325is which was my first car, 93 325is, 01 325ix and an 07 328ix, these are amazing cars, I know they aren't for everyone but they are for me and my family. I'm a full time auto technician, so cars are a huge part of my life followed by my 2 1\2 kids one on the way and my wife.

I originally bought this car while on vacation visiting my family in Georgia, I had been looking for a new car as a summer ride, but had little luck finding any thing, untill I happened to come across this nice looking e46 sitting on a small used car lot in Chattanooga, at the time I really didn't know a lot about what a zhp was exactly, I had heard of the term and I knew it was sportier, but that was all I knew. When I asked the owner, he told me it was an 05 330i with an M3 body kit, it had 160k, needed tires, and the front struts, and he was asking 5500 for it, having had a e46 before I loved how the car looked and drove, and ended up buying it the next day, and taking it back to PA.

So far iits been a great car, me and my wife love driving it, it got kept in the garage for the snow season, and since the spring iI've been taking care of the maint since it just clicked 191k but still runs great. So far we've done a full ccv refresh, upper and lower intake boots, TB gasket, icv cleaning with a new grommet, fuel filter and trans filter, all new rad hoses, water pump, thermostat, vcg and plugs, I have a vanos kit ordered from beisan, belts and pullys, ofhg and vanos feed line, and new tires. All in all it runs amazing for the miles, I'm hoping to atleast get the 283k out of this engine I got out of my e30.

Only issue I've been having is I'm still getting a p0171/174 after about 3 days of driving, I've smoke tested it and have yet to find the culprit, it may be super small and I'm just missing it, but I'll keep looking, unless someone has some words of wisdom and maybe a suggestion to check, anyways great to meet everyone, if anyone needs a TB gasket, or a spare coolant cap, hit me up, I've also got an ecs aluminum water pump pully if anyone's interested in getting one for a few bucks.

Yes they are like a metallic gunmetal, my wife has curbed them a few too many times for my liking tho, I have a friend who is gonna redo them sometime this summer, but I still have a lot on the table, the roof rails are in desperate need of a repaint, and the cowl is cracking, and I still have to get those damn lean codes under control lol

I'll take some tomorrow when I get to work, they aren't the greatest right now, my wife curbed them a bunch, ill probably get them redone before the winter tho, i have a co-worker who does powdercoating, however we've both been trying to get his camaro going, and its been a long painful proceess, just finished getting the drivetrain bult and dyno'd, but bent the subframe in the process 1175 hp will do that lol, and we still have to build the cage for it, so he won't touch the wheels till we finish.

Welcome, that's a clean car. Isn't the p0174 just an air intake past the MAF? Maybe just buy a new boot?

Wish it was, already replaced both boots, as well as TB gasket, icv grommet, vaccum hoses to the brake booster and fuel filter, and the disa o-ring, ccv all 4 hoses and the vcg, I'm thinking it may be a soft failed maf.

Welcome to the family. ZHP looks great! Oh I suspect you'll top the timing belted M20 engine with the ZHP engine. They should be good for a few miles if properly loved as I know that you know. :swiss
