BimmerWorld View - CSF provides a high-quality that exceeds OE standards, gets rid of the plastic end tanks, and improves cooling by 25-30%. Drop-in fitment and more efficient cooling for your street/track car at a great price.

We trust CSF quality and performance in our street and track cars to provide proper cooling with an easy direct-fit install. This E46 radiator is a factory replacement using all factory shrouding, clip-on hoses, and mounting points.

CSF uses new technology packed into a compact two-row core design for better cooling capacity without the added weight. More efficient B-tubes have greater surface area for cooling (15% cooling capacity increase in fin technology alone) and a precision multi-louvered fin to increase heat rejection performance and surface area contact. Additionally, this CSF part has more total cooling tubes, and due to the efficient B-Tube shape, airflow through the core is improved as well. These technical features all contribute to improved cooling efficiency over OE-type performance upgrades, as well as other standard "performance" aluminum tanked radiators which are nothing more than aluminum tanks on a traditional stock core.

Made in Indonesia in the same factory that produces CSF parts for aftermarket and car line production for several European cars. All CSF radiators come with a two year warranty against defects in craftsmanship.

Fits all 99-06 E46 6-cylinder models (320, 323, 325, 328, 330), and 05-05 3L Z4.

Wow, if the quality is good, that is substantially cheaper than the other all aluminum options available!

sweet...good to have options.

I would trust them, they make racing radiators for many US teams including Bimmerworld.

I like it. Too bad I already bought a new one sitting in a box. Might have to sell and get this one.

I wish I'd seen this when I did my cooling system overhaul. Oh well, I guess that'll be the one I swap it out for in 60k miles...:blink

Nice, CSF is pretty highly reviewed in the XJ world as well.

Are these manual only? Or is there an option for autos?

What's the difference, anyway?

Why is an auto different? I thought it was just the fan. :dunno

Automatics have a heat exchanger mount on the bottom of the end tanks.

The difference on this radiator is that it is full Alum instead of plastic end tanks.

So it's simply a mount? Any way to add that to this radiator?

unsure. I don't research autos. :P

I take it back, its not the mount that is the difference. It is the drain plug to clear the heat exchanger and an extra port.

Thanks for the info Derek. Not exactly sure what that it but it would seem useful to make it easier to get a radiator like this. Could you provide more insight?

Not quite sure I follow what you mean. but I'll give it a whirl based on what I think you mean..

This all AL radiator will be better cause most radiators, the point of failure is on the plastic ends. This also improves cooling by 15%.

I meant that piece that you linked to for auto radiators

I think what JR is getting at, and what I want to know is, do we really need that feature on an auto?

Most radiators I've seen with the heat exchanger use coolant to heat up the tranny fluid on startup in the auto so that it shifts correctly at startup. Granted, I know nothing about BMW autos, but I'd be willing to bet it works the same way.

Interesting. Ok. I guess it wouldn't be there if it didn't serve a purpose.

Thanks for the info. So I still don't get it, would we need that "gadget" that you linked to to use this particular radiator or not?

I've seen them bypassed before (common in Jeep applications, people typically swap in a tranny cooler instead; some get crazy and add a check valve to keep fluid in the tranny until it hits operating temp), so you may be able to get away with that as well. Again, I don't know enough about it's function in this application to say one way or the other.

from the factory yes. If it is necessary for normal operation, idk. I'll have to ask a master tech to see what they think.

Just received mine, welds look really nice and the quality looks good. Should have it installed later this week or early next week!

keep us posted as some from E46spec have announced there was some trimming involved.

Yeah curious to what needs to be adjusted for it to fit smoothly.
