Guys,
I'd like to get an idea of what maintenance everyone plans to do on maintenance day, June 7th. Please reply no later than May 21st with your plan. Thanks
The maintenance day will be held at Guys Son-in-law house (Ted). He's got a very well set up 3 bay garage.

FYI I will be scheduling shoots for Sunday morning so if you have signed up for a package with me I'd suggest either making sure you get a slot on Friday/Saturday (limited amount of time for these) with me or else doing the shoot BEFORE you pull your car apart on Sunday ;)
ELCID86
05-16-2015, 03:56 AM
Seth, where are you doing the shoot(s)?
UdubBadger
05-16-2015, 04:13 AM
Depends what day the person schedules for.
Friday I can do a dusk/night shoot while we are all meeting up or outside around town as people are getting drinks.
Saturday I can do likely only one or a quick 2 after cars & coffee (maybe leave a little early from it) around downtown Cincy. Then Dane set some time aside for another sunset or night shoot after our cruise.
Sunday I don't plan on doing maintenance so I'm available to shoot first thing in the morning before everyone else has their car pulled apart. I will likely stick around until the mid afternoon or dinner time then head back to Chicago. I assume we will find locations around Danes or wherever we are doing the maintenance day.

Thanks guys! Looking forward to it. 90mm bulletnose TMS studs, with TMS 12.5mm spacers front and rear. Might need to add a little fender rolling to the list, but we'll see.
How do you the parking brake adjustment after installing the studs? Or should I do it next weekend as well beforehand?

Dan, if you can get some fender rolling action done while you're there I highly recommend you doing this. There will be lots of people there who can help you get this done! :thumbsup
Looks like I'll be there for most of the day so, if anyone needs an extra hand, feel free to ask. I also have a fair amount of tools and could pack some. Just let me know. If anyone's interested in replacing their RCAB, I do have the tool.

I've been trying to paint my brakes, but to no avail due to how much rust has built up over the years it has lived in NH. I don't have a good place to do media blasting, and a wire wheel just isn't cutting it (pun intended). Does anyone have a media blaster, or a compressor with enough CFM to do it? I can get the blaster + media if need be.
Edit: I could also pick up an N55 adapter and do a walnut blast
I also want to try and identify a very annoying rattle/squeak from my driver's side A pillar. It only occurs going downhill, which is bizarre to say the least.
Looking forward to hanging with you all again!

Sounds good! :thumbsup
I'd appreciate it (even though I should pick one up, but figure another good lesson and experience using one first will be good). .
I'll be bringing along fluid (ATE Type 200) and front pads (switching from the posi-quiets...thinking of going back to OEM). We'll see, interested in others opinions on the faint rubbing I'm getting on my front passenger side, hence the "brake/inspection" element.

Hopper + compressor that delivers 4CFM @ 90PSI. Harbor Freight has a really good mobile media blaster hopper. Remove intake manifold, blast away. If there's a powerful enough air compressor, it's doable, but I'd need to get the special intake manifold adapter. It's a "maybe," but I definitely want to clean up my brakes and paint them.

Rear shocks are a piece of cake....I think adding the reinforcement plates at the top is a good idea, not sure how others feel. They're cheap, and good insurance. Either way, definitely replace the mounts.

Anyone wanna swap my headlight lenses? I break stuff every time I try to get in there.
Um...are they same as sedan lenses, or are they needing a bake first prior to removal per traditional ZHP coupes? If it's the same as the sedans, it should be fairly easy. (Famous last words...)
Can't be any more fun than this...

Same as sedan. Pulling out the little plastic eyelid thingies gets me every time tho. Surprised they're still attached to the car.

Ah, the more you know! Shouldn't be too bad then bud. Haha, yea eyelid thingies can be fun sometimes but not as bad as trying not to drop the difficult to reach mounting bolts for the entire assembly. It's usually the last one that I drop after already installing the other three, then I have to remove them for access and start again...

Seth, if you've already broken the clips on the lower trim piece, install will be a breeze.

Made it back to Lexington, but not without the P2231 code kicking on a few times (thanks ultragaugeII). I'll dig into that latter.
Thanks to Shawn and Guy and all who helped me with the rear shocks. Special thanks to Shawn who took that pesky CDV out.
Car felt more solid in the rear and gear changes are 230.23 ms faster!
Beautiful cars and good times indeed. Please thank Ted and his wife again for opening their house and cooking out.
Thanks ZHPBOSS! Pleasure meeting all.
Safe travel to all, specially the Quebecois who have a long journey ahead.

Only rubbed twice on the way home!
The harder dampened tears felt AWESOME too putting the car through the highway paces.
Lights make the front end look brand new. Thanks for the help guys!

Must've been hard to keep it under 4k rpm on the drive back. I remember when I installed mine, I think my MPG took a 25% dive because the sound was so intoxicating!
