I am curious if anyone has used the Lamin-x roundel protective coat with tint, smoke, or gun smoke.

I plan on refinishing my wheels dark graphite, black kidneys, smoke side markers, black 330i emblem, and generally that look. Car is SGM. I think this might look good but maybe just tacky.

Thoughts? I would especially be interested in pictures of this on someone's car.

Ive seen a ZHP with smoked roundel tint and I didnt like it. Thats just my opinion. I think that a light tint would look decent though.

Or maybe swap it out for a monochromatic emblem like so:

+1. Can you buy these emblems, or just the overlay?

All I see are the overlays on there

That was my point. Overlays is the only option I have seen so far.

After a little research I found that you can in fact buy Carbon roundels but the quality is not good. I'll probably just do some overlays later on

I have had c/f roundels for 6 years now w/no issues (knock on cube) :)

Really? Where did you get them?

I'm sorry, but I can't recall 100%. Most likely Bimmian, but it could have been Bav-auto.

Neither bimmian nor bavauto has them now. I did find them on Amazon but with terrible reviews.
Might try this place http://www.autowheelcapled.com/index.php/default/bmw-wheel-center-emblem-cap-and-sticker/bmw-carbon-fiber-black-white-wheel-center-caps-68mm-steering-horn-45mm-hood-82mm-trunk-74mm-emblems-7pcs-bonnet-boot-roundels-badges-full-set.html

Hmm, I'll see if I can find where I got mine then, unless the discontinued them and that's why.

I have both. The real Cf ones are about 5 to 6 yrs old and are starting to show their age (yellowing) I don't have any pics of them because they aren't on the car anymore. Here are a couple of pic of the bimmian "stickers" I'm using now... They are good enough for me and if they start looking shitty I'll just peel them off.
Car is filthy BTW...

All they really are is precision cut DiNoc. It only goes over the blue parts

I dont have a problem with the stickers but I like the black and silver look. To do that I have to buy two overlay kits. I'm just gonna buy a $25 set off amazon and see how they do.

I'm going to buy the roundels off ECS Tuning and maybe in the future I will do the CF overlays

What wheels are you running?

Cheap-ass Chinese eBay CSL replica wheels. $500.00 for a set. They are round and are holding up surprisingly well so far...

I think I remember seeing you talk about them in another thread. They look great!

Thanks! I'm pretty happy with them considering what I went through with my Breytons. At that point I was like F-it! How bad could they be? Turns out, not bad at all
