Question: Wait, I thought the BMW Performance exhaust system and the BMW Performance Package (ZHP) exhaust system were one and the same. They're not?
Answer: they are not. You can see pictures of them below. What's more, they have different part numbers, too. The ZHP exhaust system is part number 18-10-7-919-236 (18107919236) while the BMW Performance system is identified by BMW part number 18-10-0-429-614 (18100429614). As you can see from the pictures, the BMW Performance system is comprised of a muffler and exhaust pipes (we call these two parts the rear section). Clamps are also included, so that you can connect the BMW Performance rear section to the factory mid section.

That is what I thought as well. Every other option is going to be alot more expensive and above $700.

And an aftermarket exhaust on the zhp is mostly for the sound and looks.

If anybody else wants, I suggest give ecs tuning a call and tell them of the price change. They might honor it like they did for me.

What's wrong with the Corsa exhaust Daniel?

I mean, I love it don't get me wrong and haven't completely ruled it out, but it's damn loud. Rather do lsd, coils and gruppeM before drawing that much attention to the car. As Botond and I discussed, it's kind of like the clears...doesn't fit the car's personality...BP and yours are lowered with the M3 mirrors and the BBS wheels...they need an aggressive tone to match. Hence, re-organizing the list. :thumbsup

It's only the rear "muffler" piece, not a full cat-back system. So, if it is lighter I can't imagine by much. The tail pipes look slightly thicker, which I think is a nice look.

I called them before I ordered and they did not cave in. But I'm okay with the price, it is still a really good deal. I got it mainly because I want the Bimmerbrake headers and I don't want my car to be super loud, so those two put together will have a nice sound. So I'm pleased.

Honestly, probably not. I mean it is a less restrictive muffler, but the sound is just slightly different from the zhp exhaust. Just called my local BMW, talked to the parts guy...theres a bulletin out on this exhaust!! only 63 mufflers in Germany!! 1 in the USA!!....it will include the muffler,tips,clamps...smokin deal...I placed mine via local store...he's a fellow e46 enthusiast and was blown away...said he will be placing an order as well.

First of all let me thank you for this information, you guys are like a big family indeed and I'm thrilled to be here.
I don't know how many of you know, but I'm from Europe (important info because of time zone difference) and I've ordered BMW Perf. exhaust from BMW of South Atlanta as well as from BMW dealer here in Serbia. USA order got cancelled as for many of you, but my dealer in Serbia told me today at 9AM C.E.T. (when I placed my order) that 17 pieces remained available atm and that he cannot guarantee shipment even with that many listed available.
I'll let you know of the outcome (shipment should be on Thursday from Germany warehouse).

Just got a call from the BMW dealership - order cancelled.

@Slater, most likely yours also got cancelled...did Randy call you as well?

yep, just did. and according to vas, above - i'm sure we know the story now - ECS likely bought them all! here's what i heard back from endras BMW:

"I just got word back from BMW Canada that the order has been cancelled and the product no longer available. The stock levels in Germany are a day behind what we can see, and it looks like someone made a run on these exhaust systems on Thursday of last week and cleared them out."

Agreed. I was fine with the $130 price tag from ECS. But now that BMW had it at $55, I don't feel like its worth it to pay $200 price tag ECS has now. I will just save up for a full catback now lol Tse3 here I come!!!!! Haha

I called 2 local canadian dealers as well. They were able to see the clearout price, but it shows NLA for canadian orders on that part so no order could be placed.

Thats exactly what Randy from Endras BMW told me on the phone. So presumably ECS got them all for $55 or so and is now selling them for $199? Great!

Yeah, I'm not mad at ECS at all, just sad that my order was cancelled. Like you said, any other business would have done it and hey, I ordered 2 so I could sell the second one. No hard feelings against ECS, guess this means I will get headers instead :D

yeah, its posting out of bitterness towards them for scooping them up. id do the EXACT same thing and some of us were: simply buying them up to either sit on them or resell. i personally would have used one and sold the other

Bmw of Atlanta sent me an email saying my order is cancelled. I still didn't get anything from northwest bmw about my order.

ECS though says this for me. I paid $129.95 from them

Try adding something else to the cart that cost a few bucks. I did this before and my shipping dropped in half! Something is screwy with their shipping calculator.

When ECS released their BBK Kit, I called them regarding replacement rotors as they were OE rotors. They did not have a website page related to replacement rotors at the time so I was provided the part number 905/906. I checked with BMWNA inventory list (At the time I was working at a dealership) and it showed the part being NLA and 0 inventory in BMW NA and Germany. The salesman told me they actually had 200+ pairs at the time and could sell me rotors through the phone. I bought 3 extra pairs from them excluding the rotors included in the BBK kit. A week later the rotors showed up on their website at $400+. I can guarantee they bought them during the fire sale when they were $80 per rotor and they picked up ALL the inventory. It is what it is.

Honestly, it will probably be a while before I get a chance to get it installed. I am super busy at work this time of the year, I may get some time by mid June.

Maybe the life of the car. When gave away my stock exhaust. It wouldn't fit in their truck so we cut it with the intention of them welding it back together. ...
I ruined 3 new sawzall blades cutting those two pipes...

The BMW Performance muffler is made of 321 stainless (higher grade than the most common 304 variant, and is titanium stabilized)
I would imagine it will last for an extremely long time.

Also... I received one yesterday!

The sound is exactly what I wanted... deeper (ballsy) tone, very similar noise level.
The tips look fantastic in person!

Order was placed may 2nd. I believe many people ordered before me and had their orders cancelled. ECS price was already at 200 + shipping when I placed my order.

He took it upon himself to call all around the United States until he found a dealer with one in stock. I am amazed by this. This dealership(at least the parts dept) has earned my business.
