Bmw performance exhaust on sale ecstuning

ECS has now pulled the exhaust from their site.

Wonder if these weren't as 'available' as they thought.

I asked them about the exhaust. Got a reply that states

"The product was removed from the site because we reached the limit of units we placed on order, if we receive more than we expect then they will become active online again."

Stopped by my dealer the other day for something and decided to check with the parts counter to see if they had one of these. No joy, but the parts guy did a system inquiry and handed me a list of dealers that showed one in stock. There were 6 nationwide according to the system but with the varying dates of last update looking quite old I wasn't very hopeful. Most didn't have it, one dealer had it in a performance parts display and want willing to sell it (says he gets calls frequently for it). Tried the last one out in Washington state, he also had the muffler in a display but still had all the parts and the box, bought it for $83 including shipping and tax. Should be here next week!!!!:headbang

Yep thats what I saw too, I got mine (fingers crossed) from the Tacoma, WA area.

The NC dealer is the same one I mentioned. None of the others have one despite what the system shows I called them all.

Spoke to ECS on their chat today, they bought all of the remaining exhausts from BMW in Germany. Apparently they're on the boat now, but are not due in until at least late June.

I just went to install it thinking it would be an easy swap, but it looks like I need to cut the pipe to mate the me muffler section on. I'm not sure if I want to tackle this or not, but I figure all I need is a hack saw. Thoughts?

Good time to buy a 4.5" angle grinder, cutoff wheel, and a flap wheel. Much cleaner and faster cut than a hacksaw.

I used a free tool rental exhaust pipe cutter from Oreillys.

Took some elbow grease, but went smoothly. Great even cut.
Looks like a whip with wheels on it connected to pliers.

I'm on NC coast. I usually borrow my landlords tools but he is out of town for a few weeks. I'll look into the rental

I cut the pipe today. Used the "tail pipe cutter" that I rented for free. Was a royal PIA, but fitment seems good. I won't know until I tighten up the new exhaust.

Eh, I doubt it's related to the muffler. If I had to hazard a guess, your blinker fluid is low. Common problem.

However be warned. The parts department and the manager are pretty rude to deal with. And their logic does not make sense.

Yup. This is the dealership with the display unit. He said it is to showcase the BMW performance exhaust line and they won't sell it.

And currently it is in the back storage closet because they are doing construction to their parts department.
