I think bmwusa.com may have that information in PDF form. Let me see. Be right back.
This link should take you directly to the Bluetooth page at BMW. On the right, there is a link about connecting your iPhone.
Link to BMW Bluetooth information (http://www.bmwusa.com/standard/content/owner/bluetoothtechnology/default.aspx?enc=/eiUrYOZAxtXbrazY6tfkkPwC1DBrLQQYsOHDJEgEZxZQk5qVnL LXI7I0bouX0MU3IyCEvtzvJqaTZ8QX9ZHMgrQzq/lhb8xg9zFt/3PDs5HD8HTg7ZgOAbbZDneLWhmSUmAqlycJwfm8aEobEpYOqfg VMPD0kft3n9mI1eLPIg=).

Go to bmw's site and get to the owner's manual section.
http://www.bmwusa.com/standard/content/owner/dgh.aspx
Once there, choose the year of your car (2006)>choose 330ci>see video about pairing car with iPhone (video is 4 minutes and 11 seconds).

You need the four-digit pairing key ("PK") for your Bluetooth module; the PK is, in deed, on the paperwork that you can't find, but it is also on the Bluetooth module itself. You just have to pull it out of the trunk & get a good look at it (the label is, of course, on the bottom face as installed so you can't see it unless you remove it).

The number is at the bottom of bluetooth module (the topmost horizontal shinny unit in this pic).

^ Exactly the type of picture I was going to try to find to help out! The number is on the label after "PK". Once you have the PK (& reassembled your trunk), turn your ignition to accessories (or start the car) & then you have about two minutes (IIRC) to pair from your phone.

Great info. I was wondering if I even had it in my car and the missing horizontal shiny thing indicates I do not...

Excellent information. I have all of my manuals -- including the bluetooth manuals -- so I didn't even think about that 4-digit code.
Thanks to all.

Most E46's didn't come with bluetooth installed. The majority of E46's are pre-wired for it though.

Yep. I saw the wiring harness back there for it.
Wonder how much it is to get the module...

I noticed some BT modules for sale on e46fanatics, they are still several hundred dollars... better to get a Parrot/Connects2 IMHO. But, if you can get a module at a good price, it's nice to have the option to keep completely OEM if that's your thing. I wouldn't think that OEM BT would be extremely high on someone list though... as long as what you have works. And from what I've read, the only difference is the OEM BT provides caller ID on your dash readout, where the Parrot/Connects2 doesn't.

If you can't get your PK code that way, I'm pretty sure if you provide your VIN to BMW, they can look it up for you.

You sure its still the OEM head unit?
What about the steering wheel? Got any buttons on that like R/T, and a pic of a person talking?

The video is for the E9Xs; there is no interaction to be done on a Business CD H/K radio (I have that type). Just start the car (or at least turn ignition to accessories) & the BT should be discoverable from your phone for ~120 seconds. It should appear in the list of available BT devices as "BMWXXXX" with the last few digits of your VIN.

Press the R/T Button, and go to your phone and look for bluetooth devices. It'll pop-up

Well, the good news for me is I was just out messing around with my Droid X in the ZHP and I was able to get it to discover the blue tooth in the car- so I guess I do have it after all.
Bad part is, I don't know my pairing key and can't find the module in the trunk...

What good fortune! Were you able to get your trunk lining out like in Oli's pic in post 7 (http://www.zhpmafia.com/forums/showthread.php?1544-how-to-pair-up-bluetooth&p=30028#post30028)?

In my 335, I believe the 4-digit number is the last four numbers of my VIN (by default). My wife knows for sure, though. She's taking a nap. When she wakes up, I will confirm.

well, i pushed the button and did all that was said, but my iphone will not discover it,, maybe there is something keeping it from coming on or working.

Current models do, indeed, use the last four, IIRC, but they made that good decision a generation too late for the E46, sadly.
(At least my PK isn't my last four . . . )

Crickett, thanks for that data point. I went from E39 to E90 to E92 to E46. Wasn't aware that the E46 guys didn't have that.

Unfortunately, the last four of the vin didn't work. Nor did 1234 or 0000.
She's going to the Stealer tomorrow for some CPO work, so I'll see if they can either retrieve it or charge me $100 to reset it...

Success!!!!
As some of you know, I'm not a patient person-- so while sitting waiting for my wife to get ready to go out and grab some dinner, I decided to rip the trunk liner out and see if I could find the pairing code.
http://i1234.photobucket.com/albums/ff401/Kayger12/2011-03-07_18-55-32_89.jpg
And there you have it-- four digit code PKxxxx
Jumped in, paired up...score!!!
Thanks for the guidance, gents.

Did you verify that your car actually has the BT module? Pretty much every car has the buttons and is pre-wired for it but not many buyers chose the option.

Pull the left-side trunk lining & see if you have a long, short silver unit sitting on top, as pictured in post #33 up there (http://www.zhpmafia.com/forums/showthread.php?1544-how-to-pair-up-bluetooth-on-2006-BMW-330-ZHP&p=30401#post30401). It's very easy to do.

No. I believe you get it with BMW Assist. Therefore, if you did not order BMW Assist with your car, it does not have Bluetooth that's ready to go.
However, Crickett once said this: "our cars are pre-wired for Bluetooth capabilities from the factory, so all you need to retrofit Bluetooth is get the required equipment (TCU or ULF, Bluetooth antenna, & microphone) & plug it in."
Thread here (http://www.zhpmafia.com/forums/showthread.php?1397-Bluetooth-for-iPhone).
