Does anyone know if the ZHP came with a different head than other 330is? RealOEM doesn't show a different part number, so I assume its the same head and bearing ledge, right?

Head is no different in design, just the cams

It's your standard M54B30 with more aggressive cams + a software tune to take more advantage of them.

Another fun fact, the oil pump nut has loctite applied to it from the factory, while the ZSP cars do not.

Must be why my engine hasn't grenaded after 217k miles and over a dozen track events and a couple of seasons of autocross. lol

Thanks all. Now I gotta decide whether I want to spend $500 for a used head or $2500 for a new one.

Sounds like a no-brainer to me. :)
You might as well buy the used head and rebuild the engine while you're in there... should come out less than just a brand new head by itself.

The entire harness and DME are different, not just the tune. :wave

Rebuilt M54's can be built to make a decent bit of power over stock. I'm at 229whp and 217wtq untuned w/ catless headers on the rebuilt motor. Total rebuild w/ all machine work outsourced (assembly done by me and a friend) was roughly $3k with a new clutch and other nick nacks.
