first off, thank you Dane for approving my membership - stoked to be a part of this community finally, after browsing for months.
little bit about me: I'm an engineer, motorsport aficionado, car enthusiast, and New England sports fanatic. I started as a Volkswagen enthusiast, and I still am. my first car was a 1997 Jetta GLX, and I had it for 10 years, however I was t-boned and the car was deemed totaled.

I ended up fixing the car and selling it as a parts car. after that car was totaled, I needed a car quickly for my new job, so I purchased an E36 328i from a friend. the car had 199,000 miles, but it was well sorted and well documented, so the mileage was of little concern. my dad and I drove out to NJ, picked up the car, hit up an ALMS race at Lime Rock Park, and road tripped home.

I love the E36, but I still had that VW itch, so I found a one-owner 2004 R32 for sale, and scooped it before anyone else could. as of now, I still have the E36 (221k miles) and it's still running strong, however, after many years on the East coast, and several midwest winters, the floors have turned into swiss cheese. oddly, it's my four season daily-driver while the R32 stays warm and dry in the garage.

moving on, the E36 has been a riot to own, and I love daily driving it, but it's time to be replaced by a newer younger model. initially I wanted an E46 M3, but I kept going back to a four door sedan and the ZHP. a couple friends have ZHP's and constantly talk about how they are such a great package. combined with the looks and practicality of one, I have decided I need to own one. I've been searching for a couple months now, only semi-seriously, because I wasn't sure of what I wanted to buy next. my search has started to get a bit more serious now, so hopefully I can pick one up soon. again, I appreciate the membership here, and I look forward to engaging in this community more. hopefully I will have a new owner thread sometime soon too.
