i don't think this is a real ZHP due to the paddle-equipped non-M leather wheel and the standard 330i exhaust (rolled tips). i DO think it's an M-Sport though as it has gloss-black shadowline trim, black cube trim, and M-Tech II body bits.
i have inquired with the seller about getting the last 7 digits of the VIN, but it is still an extremely rare and unique car - likely the only one, or maybe one of 2 or 3 in existing on this continent.
i kinda want to buy it due to it's rarity...

I don't think this SMG is anywhere near the SMG II that you see on the E46 M3. From what I have heard, they are very different.

They are different. No CSL tune for this one.

Technically, Non-M's "SMG" system is SSG.

Did they offer a real smg tranny in our cars or only steptronic?

according to the ZHP production data we have, 2 pre-production SMG-equipped coupes and verts were made, 1 sedan. none sold to the public.

ZHPs are step or manual only.

I was looking into one of these in Vancouver. Like werty said, and from all the research I did, these are SSG trans made by Magnet Marelli. p/n 23017547990, option code is S206- Sequential manual transmission (SMG). I read somewhere this trans was avail on late euro model e36 m3's as well.
Here one:

There's another for sale in Vancouver right now:

They're typically listed as SMG because the shift knob says SMG on it:

In other news, this is listed somewhat locally to me. A Canadian delivered 330i with S767 package! I'm puzzled.

ZAM sighting! Those are rare (because Canada doesn't sell as many cars)

yep, there aren't many, but they exist. mine is one such example - 1/21 imola on black leather, 1/215 sedans. pretty darn rare.
that one you posted - the imola on black leather steptronic - is actually 1/4 made for canada! dang!

exactly. as mentioned above, we got only 215 ZHP/ZAM sedans TOTAL, over a 3-year period, versus the US which got 6354.
coupes were less rare, with a huge 251 sold. :) (3063 for the US)
there actually were even more verts sold - 378. (4223 for the US)
fascinating stuff. :)

Rare... but doesn't mean its 'sought after'. It has been for sale for a very long time.
I would love to have it and swap in a ZHP engine & 6m for DD daddywagon duty.
The whole SMG thing just says 'spend money on me for no good reason'.

i agree.
concord motorsport always has clean and quality cars though - i spent a few hours there last fall when i had a wheel balance issue and happened to be in the area. they sorted things out for me quickly and since it was quiet there, the manager and i spent an hour chatting about the ZHP (he has a 330i), M cars, etc and looking over some of their rare + neat stuff. very cool place.
