That car looks delicious, but at a price.

There was someone who mentioned his friend was looking for a clean IR zhp with low miles and was willing to pay a premium for it. Forget who it was and where but this would def all in that category.

It was tkundhi back in the other EAG thread with the DINAN Imola ZHP.

Wow. Holy moly

It definitely looks clean. I wonder who the previous owner was.

What's the consensus on how overpriced this one is, if at all?

Mas, Just my $.02 but I would think they're at least a couple grand high. But I'm a cheap a$$. EAG is known for pushing really clean and thoroughly inspected Bimmers. If that kind of peace of mind is imprtant to you then the money is well spent. Again just my $.02.
Are you in the Market?

I go back and forth re: in the market. A car like this pulls me in for sure. But seems a little high, though very nice and clean. The accident is a bit of a concern. But does look like quality repair as EAG notes.

Hmmm, I didmn't read the info so didn't see the bit about the accident...I wouldn't jump on this one for that price with it's history.

Pm'd

But, I would say you are definitely paying the EAG/fixed up tax here.

nice car. it is spec'd identical to mine, except i have the cold weather package too.

premium package was an expensive option (worth it in my opinion), and EAG does command a premium for their services, but that still seems pretty steep.

I love having my non fold fixed back seats though.

That is correct.

but for those with folding rear seats you can incorporate a rear strut bar to add rigidity to the back....

correct, and you can carry 8' 2x4's... :)

mine doubles as my truck. could not do it without the fold-down seats... now, if i had a quick-release rear strut bar - dang that would be cool! :)

Doubt it would be the same though. And then a strut bar gets in the way of putting stuff

if it was quick-release... :) i bet it would be close in terms of rigidity. but if we welded some 1/4" steel under the rear deck from one side to the other i bet it would be close in rigidity to the non-fold seats - it's thin sheet metal behind there, right?

roof rack :) Keep that interior clean

i have a roof rack as well. :)

and i have 2 kids, 7 and 11 - who do a fine job of making the backseat (especially the floor area) a detailer's nightmare...

Huh, I'm surprised the sedan with folding seats has greater torsional rigidity than the coupe (folding-seats standard). Thanks for the info though, interesting read. What is the source (apart from Mango@e46fanatics.com)? Also, I really have no understanding of what those values mean in context. What is 18k Nm/degree compared to say...a modern F30?

wow, vas - cool info, thanks for sharing that!

that said, i wonder how much a rear strut brace would increase torsional rigidity?

Huh, I'm surprised the sedan with folding seats has greater torsional rigidity than the coupe (folding-seats standard).

in a sedan the B-pillar and rear door opening offer more resistance to torsional twist over the coupe body.... at least, that's the idea anyway. this is why sedans are often chosen for racecar platforms over their coupe counterparts (subaru GC8-based WRC cars, BMW touring cars, etc).

IIRC the BMW E90 3 series was 22,500 Nm/deg. And then BMW stated that the new F30 was 30% stiffer then that. According to some sources the F30 3-series is 29,300 Nm/deg. And then the F80 M3 is 40,000 Nm/deg.

The first number is how much force is needed to be applied to "twist" the frame of the car by 1 degree. The higher the number will make the car feel more solid on the road because the body has less flex and twisting action that is passed from the suspension into the chassis.

wow @ F80 M3!

even the E90 @ 22,500Nm/deg. dang.

Makes sense. I guess I forget how far back the B-pillar/closer to the C-pillar it is in the coupe compared to the sedan.

That's an impressive amount of increased torsional rigidity over each generation.

Yeah, I understand the unit's significance. I just didn't have a frame of reference in terms of comparative amounts, which you kindly provided above.

pending they paid their full asking price, id rather go ahead and spend the extra money or negotiate for the dinan packaged ZHP.

What amuses me is the explicitly state they will not buy any cars with accident history. Yet they sell them. Whatever.

as mentioned previously in either this thread or another: they call themselves ENTHUSIAST auto group yet they have stated that they don't cater to the enthusiast specifically, just anyone thats dumb or has enough money or both.

Guys, I've always seen a lot of hate for EAG. But having purchased mine from them about 2 years ago, I only have good things to say about them.

They vett their cars out and you get a well sorted ride as a result. It's well and good to talk about the things you can do diy, but if it's gonna take X# of full weekends to fix up the car when you have a wife/family/more important stuff to do then throw down "a bit" more and just get in and enjoy driving the thing.

Also, having spent a track day with a new 2series m-sport, and getting out of the car each time thinking I wish it were the ZHP- spending about half the price on this ain't a bad way to go.

Pocket the saved $$$ and buy a used 2016 C450 AMG in 5-6 years and you'll have 2 killer rides!
