Hi folks, new member with bad news on my first post. My 3 year search for the perfect ZHP ended in November 2010 and after 4 amazing years of ownership my beautiful car has been taken away by a distracted driver. So I go from having an amazingly whole car to an organ donor! I am considering buying the car back from the insurance company and parting it out.

Car was hit in driver’s rear quarter. Engine, tranny, driveline all fine, interior fine. Before and after pictures below (see my album for more).

2004 ZHP Sedan, 85,570 miles, Imola Red, Alcantara Suede, 6sp
Engine: perfect, no leaks, no issues. DISA valve replaced, new valve cover and gasket.
Harman Kardon
NAV System
Bluetooth
All instruments
Full Alcantara interior (seats, door panels, roof liner, etc.)
Black Cube trim
New cloth sun visors (no droop, no icky vinyl)
Full set M135’s (snows were on car when hit)

Please post with what you might be interested in and what part of the country you are in. (Car is in the Boston area).

Some pictures below, see my album for others.

Oh man. I'm so sorry. I would have taken the passenger's door, but have already committed to getting one from Tony.

Would you be interested in selling just the trunk handle/licence plate light apparatus and shadowline trim from over the side windows?

Also, I'm sure that interior would sell quickly and perhaps the whole engine with those low miles.

Hey sorry to hear about this :(

I would be interested in the disa valve (if possible), the steering wheel and the shadow line trim underneath the windows (not sure what that's called?)

I'm in Maplewood, MN 55109

Ooof, helluva first post; sorry about your poor luck! Shawn’s suggestion is a pretty good idea…

If you don’t go that route, I’d be interested in the following parts sent to Vegas, 89166:

Bluetooth module (various P/Ns for the different module variants; I do not need the black mounting bracket on the left)

http://tcholo.net/images/bmw/BTDIY5.jpg

Bluetooth antenna (P/N 84 50 6 928 461; I do not remember if I still have the pictured mounting bracket or not)

http://tcholo.net/images/bmw/BTDIY21.jpg

Bluetooth hands-free microphone (P/N 84 31 6 938 762; pictured on the far left)

http://www.bimmernav.com/images/mic2.jpg

The HomeLink garage door opener module (if you had one installed; multiple P/Ns).

http://ills.bmwfans.info/mm4.png

The headlight lenses (if they’re in better condition than mine; can’t quite tell in the after photos)

Good luck w/the part-out and your future car!

Did your insurance call it a total loss?

As with any car it is fixable but unfortunately insurance companies work on the basis of economics and don't to dream repair, so this has one has been booked as a total loss.

Is the buy-back reasonable?

I'd take the two driver side doors as mine are getting eaten out by rust. Shadowline trim as well (the long pieces that go above the two doors on each side of the car).

I'd be interested in the passenger rear door card only if it's in perfect condition.
Also, I am very interested in the perfect sun visors. No stickers on them and no goo, right?

You're better off buying a new windshield wiper cowling. It wouldn't be worth shipping a used one when you can get a new one for about $57 or so.

Hi folks.

Thank you for your support and interest in parts. So far I have about 30 bits and pieces you all have expressed interest in. If I only had a dozen pairs of headlights it appears I would be rich! The whole show got a little pi$$ed on today with a change to my buy-back option but I am drinking a big glass of water tonight so I am ready to pi$$ back tomorrow. Hopefully the insurance company and I will find a happy middle in the next day or two! In the meantime please keep your emails coming I have started an inventory sheet of all your requests.

This car is 99% BMW parts. No aftermarket, no performance parts was my goal with this car (I have a track car and a garage full of hobby BMW's this wasn't those).

TIPS: A couple guys sent part numbers and links to the part on either realoem.com or other sites. NICE JOB. Keep it up, if you have a link with a part number, picture, parts diagram, etc.. please include it in your email this will avoid confusion and make sure I get you the right part. As you know most ZHP parts are now made of unobtainim so I want to do my best to get this right the first time for you.

Yes, I don't have the car yet but your indications of interest is what is making the option to strip, bag and tag even a consideration. Cheers.

Hi folks.

Thank you for your support and interest in parts. Saga has continued into week #2, soon to be week #3. Nothing bad just the reality that the rest of the world has no idea what a ZHP is means slow going. I am working on educating my insurance company and seem to have finally found someone who at least acknowledges what a "car guy" is and while not one himself he will try to get my claim in front of the office "car guy" who should better understand the rarity and uniqueness of our ZHP cars.

Have a great weekend and keep me in mind if you have any friends who would like their Imola Red ZHP to find a new home in my garage. I would consider Sedan, Coupe or Convertible versions. Unfortunately I was spoiled by:

Imola Red
6 Speed
Alcantara
Black Cube
NAV
Sunroof
Cold Pack (heated seat and washer jets)
Fold down seats
Ski Bag
Bluetooth
Homelink
iPod/MP3 plug

But if something comes close I would appreciate any leads. Cheers.

I have purchased the car from the insurance company and moved it to a friends shop. He and I have negotiated a deal for him to act as my "parts - puller". We have not had a chance to complete a full inventory/photo journal of available parts. This won't happen for a couple more weeks. (I am in the financial business and we are in the last couple weeks of tax season so please bare with me.)

I have PM'd some of you but don't worry if you didn't get a PM I have a full inventory of all parts requested so far. Cheers.

Do you have either of the A pillar cover or C pillar covers and any pieces of the exterior shadowline window trim (goes over both windows on both sides) and do you have any black cube trim pieces left?
