Winter - Salt Removal Wash and Protect services offered at our location.

Helpful Winter Tips:

Keeping your vehicle as clean as possible during the winter will go a long way to cut down the damage done by salt and sand.
Take your vehicle to the car wash as often as possible. (self operated/ touch less) Many car washes in the "snow belt" offer steam cleaning and undercarriage cleaning will be a plus.
Have your car re-waxed and sealed when you have it washed.

Make sure the car is completely dry

Carefully dry the edges of the doors inside and out, including the undersides of door handles, all hinges, plus the hood and trunk edges. This helps keep them from freezing shut.
Use a good quality spray protectant on all exterior rubber or vinyl surfaces. It may be best to spray they applicator you are using instead of spraying the product directly onto the surface. This will avoid any overspray onto the paint.

WOW, that is a lot more economical than I thought. Now I've got to wait for a good gap in the snow schedule to drive down and get this done! Totally worth the 1 hr trip and tolls. :)

we use a spray sealant on the car - Sonax Brilliant Shine Detailer which is good for 3-6 weeks depending on the conditions you are in.

So this works off the "layers" methodology? Where one wash won't remove a layer of sealant but by re-sealing it, it would ensure that the car stays completely protected? Or, is this recommended because one wash (at a place like a touchless wash for example) will remove some of the sealant?

az3579 yes it theory it will be just like that but let's see if you have anything on there first, the wash itself will probably remove some of the protection you have on there, all washes typically will.

If you have a method of finding out, then I'm all for it. Menzerna PowerLock sealant applied a few months ago I would think would still do a decent job, but it never hurts to layer. :)

I'll be making my appointment once I have at least a few days of no snow. It would be pointless washing and getting it dirty right after.

I considering "layering" happening within hours to a day in between the first application. so if power lock had been applied a few months back I don't consider a spray wax after a wash "layering" I do consider that to be a maintenance / refreshing what was on there.
