Found via AutoTrader. Jet Black on Natural Brown leather. Premium Package. Spoke with a salesman and the only maintenance records available are those found in the CarFax. Is anyone in the area that could check this out?

My buddy's dad lives in south florida. He went and checked it out and said it was pretty neglected. Lots of scratches and dents, interior is badly worn, trim pieces falling off dash, wheels badly curbed, large oil leak (might just be VCG or OFHG). He is not a 'fanatic' or whatever though, so he may have seen really small things as big issues. Just figured I'd try to give a heads up to anyone who may be interested. It might just need the "typical" E46 TLC to bring it back to life.

Although the quality of the photos is pretty poor I could see the interior had seen better days. The middle steering wheel spoke was fading in splotches, the seat plastic was scratched, trim scratched, etc.

Although those things you mention are just cosmetic, it makes you wonder how the previous owners treated the mechanicals as well. But, as you say, it might just need some TLC. For $9k some people would have some money to do that.

"There was a small clunk when turning sometimes, he said it was from the steering components. Also the E-brake was worn out a bit but these things were minor and didnt detract from the experience. We came back to his house and then he decided to lift it on ramps. When we looked under it, it had a pretty big oil leak but he said it might be coming from the oil pan. He wasnt sure because there was a big plastic shield under, covering the bottom of the engine. He then pointed to the gearbox while we were under it. It had a noise coming from it. You couldnt hear it inside the car or outside of it, you had to go under and put your ear near the tranny. He told me to go inside and press the clutch so i did. Immediately he told me the throwout bearing needed replacement and was worn out."
