Why is the CD player called "Business CD"?

Because when you're shaking it off to Taylor Swift in traffic, you mean business. Complete and total business. The deal is made and there are no returns.

For some time (not sure if still nowadays?) BMW had a lower- and higher-end head unit, the low end called "Business", and the high end "Professional". I guess "Business" sounded better than "Cheeseball" when they were sticking you with the entry-level model. There was no Professional option in the E46 line, anywhere in the world, as far as I can gather. The head unit in the E90 was "Professional".

There was a professional unit for the E46 (the CD54), just not offered in NA.

Exactly. I can't hardly tell whether this is the work of a completely humorless German, or a sarcastic German with an ultra-dry wit.

E46 professional radio has more buttons and supposedly worked better with the HK system.

Isn't there some difference in the bandwidth/frequency between US and Europe that makes their radios not work properly here?
