Looks very clean to me. If it were a manual, I would be very interested:

EDIT: East Tucson, AZ, not Texas.

Hey folks... relatively new to the ZHP and thought I'd throw out a question or two on this one. I see various opinions on the AT ZHP cars... generally, but not always, more of a negative opinion. Beyond the fact that for some, maybe most(?), a 6MT might be more fun to drive at times... is there any inherent issues that one should expect with an AT over a MT with these cars? I had an '02 V6 Passat that had the tiptronic transmission and it was a blast to drive in manual mode. Same with a Mazda now, although quite different than the German cars.

Thanks!

No. Not in my opinion, as long as the tranny is maintained appropriately.

It is mostly a driver interaction issue. The auto is a GM transmission, but is reliable if you keep the fluid fresh. The auto can be molded with different software for faster shifts and paddle shifters.

Yup. Fluid changes are key.
Since it is a GM transmission (variants found in Cadillac CTS and Saturn SKY) Dexron VI fluid is easy to come by and inexpensive.
The transmission electronics are programmed to get agressive when you do. It will hold gears, prepare a downshift and execute to stay in the powerband, and is actually a competent gear manager. Downsides? If you don't hit about 41 mph on your daily drive, MPG will stay in the teens.
The manual mode isn't winning any gear shift speed awards, but when you plan your shifts a second beforehand... the shifts blend into the ZHP driving experience.
I didn't expect to like my Steptronic as much as I actually do.
I'm at 64k miles on mine and am going to change fluid when it gets a bit warmer to keep it working smoothly.
