I wonder how many miles they have on them? Oh well, I ordered new ones a few days back.

Not sure about the e46, but the coil packs seem to be a common failure in the e90. I replaced one at 65,000 miles and another one failed at 83,000 miles. With this second failure, I decided to replace all as preventative measure.

I don't believe any of mine have ever needed replacing.
