View Full Version : M-tech 2 Fog Lights
So looking into Fog Lights for the zhp bumper. There is just plenty of options out there for replacements but how is the quality/light output/fitment?
There is also the difference in having them be flutted or Clear.
Any reviews out there? Opinions?

Vas, I just got myself the OEM M3 fogs which fit in the MTEC II bumper perfectly. I stayed with the BMW OEM route for mine. :thumbsup

Go clear over fluted. X5 led mod maybe?
Yeah I prefer to have the clear units.
However the question at hand, is it worth to get the OEM or even the ZKW units over the cheaper options?
Also what is the difference between the zhp fogs and the m3 fogs?

...Also what is the difference between the zhp fogs and the m3 fogs?
When I ordered fog light assemblies for my ///M I found out that there were two types I could order. The fluted lens or clear lens. The fogs my ///M came with had the fluted lens so when I "refreshed" my fogs I opted for the clear lens and have been with them since. I think for ZHP's the choice is the same (fluted or clear lens). I don't remember the pricing being different between the two but it's been awhile since I have had to refresh my fogs. As soon as I got my new pair of fogs, I put laminex film on them...

I need to get head light lenses and fog light lenses for my car. Are the projector dogs any good?
Good call on the film on them. What kind did you use Charlie?
Personally I am not a fan of projector dogs.

Learned that when I tried buying cf splitters from Khoalty... :facepalm
Yeah I am leaning towards going with the ZKW fogs currently.

what's so bad about the fogs from khoalty? (or ECS, their 'ziza' ones i imagine are the same as the khoalty ones) where are they deficient?
peter
That is what I was asking as well. Did not really get a definite answer.
Most people say you get what you pay for. Maybe light output and overall quality ?

I actually don't know if khoalty's are bad or not, I just know other things were not up to par.

hmmm. well, i may give them a shot - anything is better than what i've got now (one working so-so, the other's reflector bowl is destroyed from moisture).
i was happy with the fitment of the headlight lenses i bought from them, and the D2S bulbs.

Doing some research people say that khoalty stuff just doesn't not last as long.
