Hey all!

I'm new here, obviously. Long time geek but always with a primary focus on computer-oriented tech, never cars. I was the guy who was too intimidated to even look under a hood. Oil changes were obviously a job for a pro, and god forbid I hear or smell something wrong...

Skip to 2 Years ago I decided no more, and bought a 98 Civic, with the intent for it to break and for me to learn about cars the way I do - hands on and under the pressure of being otherwise carless. Needless to say it's fit the bill perfectly. I've built up a collection of tools and experience with this car that makes me feel comfortable enough to branch away from, well, a Civic...

1 Year ago - I thought I wanted an E46 M3...

A few months ago - I realized how wrong I was, as this will be my daily driver and not something I want to cost a fortune to maintain. Needless to say, I discovered my true automotive calling, and here I am!

I've been doing all the scouring of classifieds, auto alerts set on craigslist, auto trader, cars.com, etc. Credit already approved and just itching to bring this vision to life! I'm looking forward to interacting with the group here, and hoping to have something to show off before long :biggrin

Welcome Dylan! Stay the course and the right one will come along, make sure to read the guides on here and take your time/get a PPI, etc. The more you know about a car from the get-go the better. This is an awesome community and a wonderful resource as you go forward with the search and ownership. :thumbsup

There is one in ATL I've been eyeing, although usually the good ones are gone really quick on craigslist and this one has hung around for a while. Not sure if the price is too high for the miles or if maybe there's something else wrong with it... Any thoughts?

Welcome to the board and GL finding the right car.
That one above looks clean but a tad high for not having replaced many things.
Strange that the owner doesn't talk about the cooling system overhaul and the control arms.
