Thanks for all the congratulations. Yes, this is our first one and we're very excited. I appreciate the offer of car seat advice and I may take you up on it. Recaro with red inserts is very enticing but really overall safety and functionality is the most important thing. :-)

First and foremost... Chicco KeyFit 30. No need for anything else till you can get Recaro rear/front facing.
I have 22 month old twins and I'm 6'2... it works somehow in the E46 and I'm SOO happy it does.

Thanks for the recommedation. I also forgot to mention that I have twin one year old neice and nephew so I should be set on hand-me-downs no matter what we have. :-)
