The diff was clean before but since I replaced the oil and put in M1 synthetic the diff seems to have a slight leak so that half of it now (10k mile later) has an slight wet look to it. I know synthetic oil can seep through tinier cracks. Anybody else notice this?
I guess I will degrease it and try to ascertain exactly where it's leaking from and go from there.

I had a leak as well. I went the route of just pulling the diff cleaning it really well and sealing it back up with RTV. A paper gasket used to be available to purchase but has been discontinued. This solved my problem. Hopefully some other may have more helpful info. Maybe replace the seals?

Kinda looks like my leak is coming from the axle shaft seal. Doubt it's the drain plug. I did tighten it to spec.

Unfortunate coincidence?
