Hi everyone...

I know that the "BMW LL-01" is found on oils with ACEA A3 certification.
This stuff is made here, and is widely available locally.

This oil meets ACEA A3 and then some... Even mentions that it exceeds LL-01.

I'm thinking about giving it a shot and then having Blackstone look over a sample.

Thoughts/Comments please!

Here is the data sheet for M1 European Formula 0w40 (http://www.mobil.com/USA-English/Lubes/PDS/GLXXENPVLMOMobil_1_0W-40.aspx)

Couldn't find the Castrol 0w30 data sheet.

Lucas is good stuff, but I'm not sure what the point is.

No good reason to stray from M1 0W-40, especially since WallyMart carries it in the 5-quart jugs at killer pricing.

Yeah, can't really beat the pricing on that...

There are times this stuff goes for the same price (per qt) as M1 0w40, and can be purchased by the quart.
For me, it means I wouldn't have to buy additional oil that will have been opened and sitting in the garage for a while.
I only drive about 5k miles per year, so I basically change once per year.
M1 0w40 is my go-to right now.

It's quite possibly better than M1 0w-40 in some way. I was using Total ELF INEO 5w-30 then Total Energy Quartz 9000 5w-40 in my ZHP because I thought it might be better. But I've decided to move to M1 0w-40 just because it's cheaper and easier to get at WalMart (most of the time--occasionally they're out). Also my theory is the 0 cold weight will be easier on the engine for cold starts than a 5 cold weight. Who knows...

I was changing my oil every 7500 miles.. maybe switch to every 5000 miles, or stay at 7500 but change filter ever 3800 miles?
