Can it be done? Has anyone else tried it?
Any car shots with this mod?

If you are talking about E46 M3 to E46 sedan - ZHP or otherwise, I believe that they should fit just fine. Seats would be able to flip forward for coupe rear seat access, but otherwise shouldn't be an issue regarding space as the transmission tunnel between the coupe and sedan are the same size. (FWIW, I went through similar questions when looking at race seats for an older Bimmer and was amazed at how many Bimmers could use many of the aftermarket offerings from Sparco & Recaro - E30, E36, & E46 could all run the same aftermarket seats). G/L!

^ this. They do have the handle on the side. I'm putting coupe seats in my son's car (at least until I can find NB sedan seats).

yes front seats i think you would just have to swap 1 of the seat rails (because of seat belt ) rear seat coupe to sedan will not fit that is where the real issue comes in (if changing color etc) if keeping same color just do the front and do not worry about rear seat

Yeah I was toying with the idea of swapping out my sedan front seats with heated m3 seats. Can they be power or am I just asking for to much? Reason I'm asking is that I always see good deals on M3 front seats. I have seen sets run for $500

The outer seat rail on the sedans have the seatbelt hole where as the coupes seatbelts are bolted to the bottom of the B-pillar on the chassis. This rail should be swapped out from the sedan and the seat will bolt right in.
Those M Cloth seats look mighty niceee :)

I've never sat in M3 seats so what am I missing. I don't think they look all that nice. Our ZHP seats look nicer to me. I wonder if Vaders will fit. . Love Vaders.
You're not missing much is you just go for basic (manual or just electric with cloth...assuming you have alcantara). Now if you go with nappa leather, electric, lumbar and side bolster you're missing out on the improved leather and adjustable side bolster support. I find the seats to just be more comfortable and wouldn't get seats without lumbar and side bolster.
Of course if you want something a little more sporty and something that'll hold you in place you can do as Mike has done with the cloth m seats with nappa leather.

I agree. I like our sport seats better than the look of the M3 seats. The M3 seats are more comfortable, however, even without lumbar.
As nice as Vaders look, they're not comfortable and have non adjustable (front to back) headrests, which makes them "function follows form" to me.

What I can't tell is if these are the only two nuts that have to be removed to swap the rail for the seatbelt.
