No warning at all. Just a statement that a thunderstorm was moving in. All the warnings were north of us. Well hail did a number on the cars :(

Never had to deal with hail am age before. I have GEICO insurance and full coverage. What should I do?

Wow that sucks....Aside from calling Geico, what else do you have in mind? Not much of a choice other than live with it, which wouldn't be an option IMO. Good luck!

Insurance should cover repair. Most if not all should be PDR.

If you have a $1K deductible, I'd get an estimate from a PDR person first. Might not be worth it on to use insurance.

Change your deductible.....then when you have a hail storm or one nearby where you realistically drive claim it?

How will it look though? Never seen it done. Will you be able to see the spots where it was touched up?

Dr. Colorchip. It costs approx $65 for the kit. It's easy to do just take your time. Practice in a inconspicuous spot first. It doesn't make the chips magically disappeared but you won't be pissed off every time you look at the car.

Sorry to hear your car got hail damage Shawn. My car recently got nailed by rocks from a drunk driver missing his exit Monday so I know exactly how you feel right now.

Get it estimated by a body shop first, see if estimate exceeds your deductible. If so, get the insurance company to estimate it and cut you a check. Then, park it in a dark black parking lot on a hot sunny day, make sure the car is clean before you do this. Let it sit and heat up for an hour or more. Take another car and go buy some bags of ice, get the bags off the bottom of the cooler where they are coldest. Go back to your heated up car and start rubbing the bags of ice slowly all over the the car. The cold temp on a heated surface will make many of the hail dents retract, it's amazing. You won't get all of them but you'll get 50% or more of them. Now, do you have enough insurance money left over to have PDR fix the rest?

And if insurance isn't enough to warrant any check to you, then still do the ice bag rub trick cause you've got nothing to lose.

I had this happen when I was in college in SC, poor college student got a $1500 check. Took the car to my uncle who was a GM service manager for nearly 30 years, he taught me the trick, have employed it twice since with amazing results. A couple bags of ice, you've got nothing to lose. But don't do this before you get the insurance company's appraisal.

I have a $1000 deductible :(

Change your comprehensive deductible. I've got my collision at $1000 and comprehensive at $100, and it barely costs more than having both at $1000.

If my car gets hail damage, I'm getting myself a CF roof lol
