I need the Mafia's help, please. . I purchased a Homelink from eBay and the connector looks to be correct on the unit. And it is female connector. See below

The problem that I am having is that the plug that I've found by my sunroof switch is also a female!

There's another plug that is black and I believe that it's the plug for the mic, which I don't have.

Can someone please take a pic of your homelink plug for me?

Sorry for the terrible photos!

Thanks!

I don't have pics from my homelink install, but I do remember really, REALLY having to dig for the correct plug. It took quite some time to find it, but it is in there!! As I recall is was wrapped in the infamous BMW black fuzzy electrical tape and difficult to see/feel. As I recall it is outbound toward the passenger's side of the car. Keep digging and I am sure that you will find it. So much nicer then having the remote stuck on the visor. Hope that this helps.

This. I had to dig a bit for my plug.

What year is the car?

Thanks, guys, My car is an 04. These connectors were under some felt-like tape. Perhaps I need to digging some more. Really odd! Will check it out in a few!

I honestly thought the hardest part of this install, was programming it to work my door. I've got one of those rolling code doors. Thing sucked. Took me about 4 tries, and that was after 10+ attempts in the 540.

Yeah, it was tricky to program with rolling code. Finally got it to work after three tries.

Man, I want one! I really wasn't even aware of this mod for our cars, although our X3 has the one in the mirror like Charlie's (and has a short distance range...but that's cool). My mirror doesn't darken any more.............

I've got one that I'll sell for $25 shipped. The 1 is half-way worn off, but it still worked when I pulled it for a Homelink mirror. PM me if interested

^ The 1 was faded on mine too so I programmed my garage as #3 to even things out. :)
