Anyone rocking dashcommand or torque? I lost torque when I switched to iphone. I couldn't believe my EML327 OBdII wasn't compatible to my IOS. Finally got around jailbreaking.

Can't wait to check my vacuum before and after when I install a oil catch can.

I'm not quite sure hahah. Not sure I'm assuming by the DME. Has intake temp. Tempted to remove my CAI and see if it's a few degrees cooler than stock box. I'll screen shot more tomorrow.

So this app is for iOS? What do you think? Does it graph the various sensors like torque. They use it for troubleshooting a lot over on e46 fanatics

I just looked over the dash command website. I do not see where you can graph and export these sensor readings (like O2, etc) from a iOS device. Am I missing that part, smiles?
It looks like it needs a $100+ dollar OBDII device to plug in so it can work. Wow. On the cheaper side I have a Gopoint BT1 already which is a fraction of that so I wonder what those more expensive devices can do that the GoPoint cannot.

It looks like you can add gauges but it's a bit more complicated than just picking one from a menu. Looks like you have to know about something called "PIDS" etc. I do not.

I have it. Works well. I use wifi obd2 elm for iOS. It doesn't support Bluetooth. If you go to dashboard and search there is an e46 specific one someone made. And no oil temp is not supported, not bc of the app but bc it's just not supported at all by obd2...weird though.

Did a airport run and had the gauges running. Very cool app.

The BMW gauge package changes the gauge color if it thinks something is wrong. Pretty neat. It would appear the voltage gauge is not supported either which is a shame because that would be one of the more useful readouts, IMO.

Are you concerned about battery/coolant readings?

NorCalZman
07-28-2014, 09:21 AM
The battery gauge doesn't appear to be working. My car wouldn't start or run if it was at zero, right?

And the coolant, I was driving in first gear up a very steep hill to my house then backing into my space. As soon as I stopped and grabbed my phone the temp had climbed to 99, then started to go down after a few seconds.

So no, not worried.

Only thing is when you look at speed on there it's off a few mph compared to my speedometer ...the app runs a few mph slower to be clearer. Does y'all's appear that way?

I received my ELM wifi OBD device. However I am having issues getting it working. I will list what I did and tell me if I am missing something/doing something wrong.

-plugged it into the car
-turned car to ACC2
-Found device on my wifi list with my iPhone. When trying to connect with it it asked for a password, which was confusing. I entered in a random 8 digit code and hit join. According to the wifi indicator on my screen my iPhone it successfully joined.
- Went to dash command and updated the device type to ELM and tried to connect. It could not "find" the device.
- Looked at the Device and the red light was (still) blinking.

What'd I miss?

Yeah okay- I just mounted a Galaxy S3 on the left hand side of the cluster using a windshield mount. The vent clips annoy me, as they block airflow.

I saw an extension cable, that allows you to relocate this OBDii adapter somewhere else. Thinking of getting that.
