OK - working on the finishing touches of my ZHP I purchased last fall. And, I decided I wanted to complete the BMW tool kit in the trunk just for completeness. After some searching, I finally did it -- here are the pics in case anyone wants to do the same. I know most of the tools won't be used - except wheel lock for sure. But, wanted the car to have this for completeness.
Here are some pics for anyone else curious about this...

Good job. Always a bit odd that they don't come that way. I completed I on my first e46, but not since.

I just found a spark plug wrench on an e34 at the breaker yard...need to find the wheel guide/ wrench handle. Then mine will be complete.
Btw, you are missing the Allen key for the brake rotor set screw and manual sunroof winding. It fits under the wheel lug wrench.

Nice! I have had it in the back of my mind to check my tool kit and get anything missing. I keep forgetting.
I thought I recall a thread somewhere (here or on e46fanatics) that had a part number list of everything in the tool kit for easy ordering.

Well I thought I had a complete set for my '02 coupe. What's the p/n for the Allen wrench?

this is what comes up on ecs tuning when you plug in that part number:

Better description IMO. Pricey little bugger.

Hmmm, so if you bought BMW lug locks you'd get that "unlock key" and there's a spot for it in the tool kit? Pretty cool.

No prob.
The name for the pliers is just a name of the type of tool. It's original meaning is now lost in the era of non-rebuildable waterpumps

^ Ref the wheel alignment tool, it inserts into the hub to help you guide the wheel on. It is often mislabeled as a spark plug tool. Perhaps it can be used in conjunction with that tool by inserting it into the hole. Example: http://www.ebay.com/itm/GENUINE-BMW-E36-E39-E46-E38-3-5-7-SERIES-SPARK-PLUG-REMOVAL-BAR-TOOL-TOOLKIT-/181459473564?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item2a3fd3d49c
I prefer this: http://www.ebay.com/itm/12mm-Lug-bolt-guide-tool-wheel-hanger-4-MB-BMW-VW-Saab-2024-Aluminum-Made-in-USA-/331016445563?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&hash=item4d121e1e7b&vxp=mtr

The warning triangle just sits in the trunk, it doesn't have a spot in the tool kit. There was a different tool kit with a spot for the triangle

Right. I like the idea of a warning triangle. Was just going to throw it in my tool bag. Do you know what item 2 is?

2 is probably a bag for carrying your tools, BMW made those back in the day but I haven't seen one in years

I was going to source a tool kit for the 2002. But, when I saw the prices and knew I was going to be carrying a fairly complete Craftsman toolkit already, I decided against it. I would like to source a vintage jack
