Hi folks, new owner of a 2005 330CI ZHP w/ 85k here.
I just picked it up Saturday morning and have been loving it. While this generation of BMW is new to me, Bimmers themselves are not. My pet project for a long time now has been restoring a 1983 320i.
So far what I know of it that it's obviously been lowered *no idea what springs*, AA exhaust, sony touch screen nav, the hood I THINK *correct me if I'm wrong* is the GTR hood. The suspension is very stiff but I've never driven another ZHP or M3 to compare it to. Closest I can think of for stiffness is my 3000gt when locked in sport mode. So for all I know it's still stock lol. Either way I'm loving this car. It responds very well to driver input up to and at it's limit *this thing is a charm to steer with the throttle* and the turn in is awesome for a road car. Course my other cars have been GT cars or muscle so this is a very nice change.
Aaaaaanyways I've been ghosting around the forum for the past few days I'm looking forward to being part of this forum :). I'll post a pic of the car below. Thanks for looking and you guys seem like an awesome bunch.

I'll post some more pics later. Don't have them loaded on my pc right now.

yeah there's a lot of aftermarket stuff on your car. csl trunk, headlights, hood, kidney grills, exhaust, lowered, bmw emblems, front bumper. i wonder if it's been hit in the front, since everything in the front has been replaced lol

Ooooook, so as promised I reloaded the pics with Tapatalk so now everyone should be able to see em.
And the carfax came back clean as well as a friend of mine who does body repair for a living checked it out and she gave it the ok. I am actually in sparse contact with the original owner now as well as the auto hobby shop on base we all use. The dealer *local family dealership who are usually neck deep in their own cars as well* told me that the car is running a tune *no idea which* and it's thrown a code. I had a buddy check it out with his Solus scanner and he reset it after making sure it was dealing with the tune and not something bad. It was dealing with the intake so we took the boot off and put it back on and he reset it. No code now ^_^.
The foreman of the on base shop was familiar with it and said the owner pretty much poured cash into it. That's kinda the story though for some of the military guys here though. Get nice car, get deployed, get back and pay off bills then pour money into nice car, rinse repeat. And then they get orders or get married and have to get rid of the car. Happened to one of the cops here. He is off to Korea and sold his staged Evo 9.
I do wish there was another member closer by who could run through this thing with me and figure out what's stock and what isn't. I can tell kiiinda from the original parts list but it's the nuances that get me.

Thank you ^__^! And I really am lol. After working on my own cars for years it's refreshing to pick up a nicely modded and well cared for car. I pretty much just plan to change the fluids when needed and keep it running. It's a bloody riot to push and at the same time is so nice to just drop it into top gear and enjoy the scenery. I am still working to get in touch with the previous owner and get a concrete parts list from him as well as the tune.
But for now I'm just cleaning every nook and cranny and pampering it. It makes me miss my 3S.
Ooh, and it was the best feeling in the world yesterday the owner of a new C7 Vette snapped his neck looking at it when he pulled into Oreily's. Needles to say I was smiling like an idiot.
P.S. : Please forgive my exuberance, I've wanted a bimmer since I was a lil kid and while the 320i was a blast this is a dream car for me.

i'm pretty sure if you took pictures of everything in your car and post it on here. we'd be able to tell you what is aftermarket. we just wouldn't be able to tell you the brands exactly.

Hmm... We do have lifts.. Sounds like a plan. It'll probably be this weekend before I can snag a lift and do this properly.. And I'll condense them to what I can't identify myself. No point in flooding the forum with needless photos.

Hey guys. Update on the car here. I went to purchase the center console storage bin from a private seller today and lo and behold it was the original owner of my car! After some handshakes and many many questions I got the full history on the car lol. He was military in Germany and bought it while he was station over there. The obvious body stuff aside it's the guts of it all that got me. He was very meticulous and.... Well the only way to describe it was almost loving with it lol. The exhaust is AA headers and cat back with the AA tuner, which he gave me for free. The coil overs are Weitec HICON GT purchased in Kaiserslautern, Germany. The LSD is Quaife LSD 3:07 purchased from Schmeidmann. From the way the power feels and the way it steps out I new it had an lsd I just didn't wan't to say anything for fear of sounding dumb until I knew which it had. It's also rocking the Evo3 short shifter and a stage 2 M5 clutch. His next mod and I'm thinking about it now is the AA super charger.
He ended up selling the car because his wife couldn't drive it. So now that he's retired from the AF he's looking for an E39 M5. But he offered to help me with maintenance and offered pointers on the car. Needless to say I'm in love with this thing all over again and now that I know it's history and that I'm the second and hopefully final owner I appreciate the work done to it all the more. And I'm still very happy to be with the ZHP family.
