View Full Version : 18x8.5 Squared. 255s in the front?

I'm looking to get a set of wheels that I can rotate. I'd like to get a set of 18x8.5 squared while losing the least amount of money swapping tires. I recently bought Pilot Sport A/S 3s. My thoughts so far are to sell the 225s and buy 255s to mount on the new wheels along with the existing 255s that I have. I'm worried that I'll rub in the front though. I'd love to hear input from anyone who has run 255s or bigger in the front. My other idea is to sell my existing set of tires and buy 245s all around. I don't know much about the used tire market, so does anyone have a rough estimate for how much a set of A/S 3's with less than 1500 miles would sell for?

Depends on the offset, but you could go to 265 or with some work, 275 square.

Right, forgot to mention that. The offset would be et35 or 38. If I can, I'd like to stay away from fender work.

My car had 255's on all four corners when I bought it in 2012. No rubbing. As far as I know everything is stock.

Derek runs 255 square as well, and he can go wider I believe.

The spring perch will the portion that will not clear certain offset wheels. If you have coilovers, the spring perch is significantly smaller than the OE ones. I ran 255 with no problem and I can probably do a 265 with no issues. :)

Just run your 225's on the front until they wear out, then get 255's all around. One reason I was able to convince my wife to let me get the ARC-8's (8.5") for my 323 was that I could use the tires I had. It doesn't look bad. My goal was to go to 245's in the end.

That is my plan now. I didn't think a 225 would fit an 8.5 haha. After chatting with America's tire, I believe this is the route I'll take, thanks!
