I have the Weisslicht's from JLeviSW.

Khoa has the Premiums for a great price.

If your pockets are deep you can go with the Orion V2's.

Feel free all, to share your A/E experiences here.

Install was a breeze. Online instructions and tutorials are excellent in this category.

I'm worried about the baking process, and if I don't get them completely sealed back up that there will be moisture inside of them afterwards :(

02-22-2011, 05:09 AM
Yeah.......idk. it all just depends on how bad you want em.

Yu could buy P46's w/ A/E's installed....but I have heard the A/E's suck in this kind of setup.

I honestly don't know what I would do if I had a coupe.

Very happy with the Orion V2s I had on my 325.

I will not bake the headlights on the ZHP, so she will stay AE-free. :(

I REALLY REALLY want them in there, but there is so much that can go wrong with baking them. Also, I don't think the p46's fit the 04+ coupe (at least that's what the website says). I think they are part of what makes a BMW stand out from other cars and I really want them, but even the smallest fingerprint on the plastic before you bake it can have negative effects. Has anyone done the headlight baking process on their car?

I did a ton of research on baking. Plenty of people have done it successfully and I haven't really seen any horror stories.

If you follow the DIYs it honestly shouldn't be that big a deal.

Of course that's easy for me to say about your headlights... which is why mine won't be oven bound.

Kind of surprised...that a man of your stature on the site...wouldn't take one for the team.

I usually don't mind taking this stuff on. But there are just too many ways for this one to go sideways. Aggravation factor is just too high.

I do miss 'em, though.

Well I have a friend that is going to to be doing this in a day or two (I convinced him to do it first lol) and I'll see how that goes. If everything for him goes without a hitch, I will most likely take one for the team and do it. I HAVE to have the Angel Eyes man....they will make my car look so....."mean" for lack of a better term. That and its a BMW signature....gotta have it!

Orion V2s here

They are really great, very OE install and look and never had any flickering or any other issues. Also at $110 they were affordable in my opinion :dunno

Where did you find V2's for $110? I've never seen them for less than $159.

Jlevi has the Weisslicht LED Angel Eyes on sale for $99 (down from $149), which is enticing (espscially with the 1yr warranty) but I've been searching around and many say that they are the exact same product as the Khoalty Angel Eyes, which are much cheaper, but don't come with any warranty.

anyone have any issues with the auto-leveling moving the AE's? Mine were positioned perfectly on the first day, then after turning lights on/off over a few weeks they've been shimmied forward and now are on a slight tilt because of the auto-leveling pushing them... ???

I've heard sometimes you have to trim the inner plastic shroud so it doesn't affect it. What AE's do you have?

OK. Definitely feel like a noob asking this, but why do you have to "bake" angel eyes, and why on a coupe and not a sedan?

The headlights lenses are sealed on a coupe....whereas on a sedan you can just pull the lense off.

Depends. The Orions are definitely brighter; easily.

The Auroras seemed more uniform though. They were like a pure white.

The Orions were more like blue, 6000k-8000k color. The Orion owner said he would go to Auroras if he had to do it again.

Both had extremely good build quality

To tell you the truth, I don't know.

My personal opinion is the Orions. They make a better DRL Light. The Auroras will easily get drowned out in bright sunlight.

The clips in the Orions are much stronger, and are virtually impossible to break.

I had Orions on my E46, and would do the same TBH
