So I was installing an aux input in my car yesterday. Routing an aux cable from the radio unit to the glovebox.
Somewhere in the process, my passenger seat (which I was sitting in while workin on the glovebox) fell backwards all the way (no motor movement or electronics involved).
Now, I can pull the lever and pull the backrest back to the default position (it snaps in place), but if you apply any force to the backrest, it falls back again.
So basically, the lever when pulled now RECLINES the backrest, instead of inclining it, to let someone into the back seat.
Very weird...does anyone know what's going on? Perhaps I screwed up some electronics while working on the glove compartment and center console?
Thanks all

BTW, the controls still work properly, and the seat DOES lock in the "normal" position. It's just that a slight nudge backwards will cause the seat to collapse backwards. My guess is it's a gear/mechanical problem, not an electrical one. As in, nothing I could have done behind the glove box or radio could have caused this problem.

Fixed.
Apparently the "default" position (where it clicks into place) had somehow changed from the normal upright position, to a fully reclined position, without my input. All I did was use the power controls to bring it back up. And now the lever works as normal - it pushes the seat forward, instead of pushing it back.
Overall a very confusing experience. So glad my seat's okay though.

By far the most work I've had to do on my car so far. Since the car had an ipod cable coming out of a (custom designed) port in the glovebox, I figured the PO had a DICE unit in the car. I still have no idea where this ipod cable is coming from. The carbon fiber trim will now never be the same, unfortunately :(.
Other than that, I've swapped out cabin air filter, intake air filter, cleaned the MAF sensor. Will flush PS system soon, and I'm plastidipping my grills matte black. I may work on the spark plugs soon, too, if I think I am capable of DIYing it.
Everything else that the car needs in the immediate future I will probably bring it into a shop for. Incl. oil change, front brake rotors and pads. Brake flush, transmission flush, differential flush.
Other less-immediate problems like the rear differential bushing, right side inner tie rod, engine mounts, etc. I can save for later when I have more time, and the right equipment.
