I've been going back and forth on selling my zhp. It's an Imola red sedan 6 speed with 73k miles. But it may be out of your budget

Rainy day bump

Found a great ZHP for $9000 in my area. Talked to the guy a little bit and asked to meet up and still haven't gotten a reponse. But just found a 330i (non zhp). Only 5500, with 154,000mi. Looks in great condition, blue with black m3 rims.

But do you want to settle for just a plain 330i ?

Why is that?

Plasti-dip matte white and that it has a rebuild title.

Vas
04-09-2014, 03:43 PM
This is my take on it. Car had a front end accident and the airbags exploded. It received a salvage title then fixed. The m3 front bumper went on the car and instead of painting the car, somebody decided that it would be a good idea to plastidip the whole car.

QC_ZHP
04-09-2014, 03:44 PM
For starters, the airbags have gone off. He also plasti dipped the whole car and took off the Mtech II bumper (probably replaced in the wreck). Plus, look at that interior, ouch.

Find one that has been taken care of. Nothing is more expensive than a cheap BMW.

Once you settle, the one you want will pop up in less than a month. Stay patient and maybe consider expanding your radius. Nothing beats a roadtrip home in a new car anyway.

Im not sure how much you can "knock" that price down...its an 04' with < 100k on it...decent condition from the looks...especially if your trying to make it happen before someone else shows up and steals it under your nose...

Just looked at the car... and it was rough. There were scratches and dents all over the car. Bumper was damaged a bit, badges were either damaged or missing, and wheels were in rough shape as well. The only good thing was the interior. Since it had all of these flaws and needed some small maintenance I asked him to lower the price. He said it was more than a fair deal already.

Hello guys, FL116 I feel your pain man Ive been looking for a nice well maintained ZHP in south florida for some time now too. I was about to make a WTB thread when I first joined here but saw this thread and decided not to step on your toes especially since I'm a rookie here lol. The red sedan I'm a little skeptical about since he didnt mentioned anything specific about maintenance and with the car right at the 100k miles mark cooling system overhaul is a must. Also the car has a number of broken parts (window regulator and burnt out xenons so no driving at night till its fixed) and doesn't have the original ZHP silver cube trim on the dash...So even though Vas mentioned it should sell quick with its price I only think the price is just fair and assuming its up to date with its maintenance. Good luck with that 03 OB FL116, hope it works out for you!

Hey man thanks, hopefully we'll both be there soon! And at least we're in different regions of Florida lol, you're in Orlando right? Yeah I live really close to the Imola Red sedan. I've contacted the seller and asked for maintenance records and more pics but unfortunately he said the car is still on the original cooling system which has me a little iffy and hasn't provided any other maintenance details. I'm still going to go see it this weekend and maybe get a PPI done once I get a idea of how much it'll cost me. If things don't work out with the red sedan then Ill probably make my WTB thread. Take it easy man and good luck!

Don't worry about the cooling system to much.

If you are doing the work yourself the parts are not terribly expensive and it is not hard job at all either.

Looks good. Enthusiast owned but also driven...may be some hard miles on the car. But then again 152 k isn't terrible for a 17 yo car. If it's close May be worth a drive to see. At least you won't wonder about it. I would look around online for some model specific things to look at if you do...

There seems to be plenty of good deals out there on ZHPs, just none near me... Sadly. But I have a question, how many of you have bought a car out of state? Is it a smart idea? And how does the process work? Would I tell the seller I want a shop there to look at it (PPI) at my expense and then if all checks out, travel there to pick it up or just have it shipped to me? Someone that has done any of this please give some advice and if it's a good idea or or. Appreciate it y'all

I live in Las Vegas and bought my ZHP in Temecula Calif. I was lucky my father in law lives down there and was a Sales Manager at every dealership in Temecula. I had him go look at it and test drive it. He then took it to a local BMW dealer for the PPI, $150. Then he was nice enough to drive it up to Vegas for me.

Oh and btw, the BMW dealership quoted me $1800 for repairs that cost me $200 to do myself.

Question, I dont know if anyone would know or have an opinion but how does a ZHP compare to a 06-09 330 or 335i manual?

Barefoot-ZHP
09-06-2014, 10:40 AM
I have an 08 335i steptronic and kick myself in the ass everyday for trading my 06 ZHP coupe in on it. I drove a MT 335i and was not impressed at all, then I drove the Steptronic car and was seduced by the TT power. I knew within a couple of weeks of trading that I had made a mistake.
The ZHP market has stayed firm, I had my car almost 3 years and got full purchase price for trade in, which also led me to trade. The market on the 335i is dropping like a lead ballon. I have fixed more stuff on the 45k mile 335i than I ever did on my 06 ZHP which had 58k on it when I traded it.
I'm trying to get back to a ZHP coupe but still dealing with the fall of the 335i market, hopefully within the next year I will be out from under this POS…
Opinion being yes, the 335i is a lot faster than the ZHP but not near as fun to drive and no where close in reliability…Just my 2 cents

FL116
09-06-2014, 07:06 PM
My friend just let me drive his 2007 335i and man it felt awesome. Car felt so well put together, and the power was very nice compared to my current car, which is also the reason I want a BMW, there just such well put together cars. I cant wait to find my zhp!
