Today will kick off my adventure to fix my trouble codes 2882 and 2883. Later today I'll be going to get a smoke test done. Only part that's not DIY. Updates coming soon.

To add to this, I have already purchased the G.A.S. Disa kit for my valve. Hoping it's only a disa issue

Hopefully that smoke test will help finding the leak!

After testing, disa valve leaks slightly, and ccv hose is cracked. Getting new ccv hose and vacuum hoses

Yea thats about right....nothing cool, or flashy, about it...just plain ol rubber and plastic parts...that we must buy from time to time!

Tear down complete. The hoses were stiffer than a whore's heart. Now the wife is telling me that we need to get our taxes done. Gives me a chance to get a new lower intake hose as well. It was shot

Completed job. Runs way better. Took roughly around 3-4 hours total for this job. Determined the disa was still strong so only resealed it before reinstalling

I also replaced the pcv and hoses. Well worth the money. Parts from bmw costed me about $300. Total. The low end and mid range power is back.

You can do it! Takes a little time, but this isn't a race. The end result was well worth it.

That's exactly why I am doing that next weekend. I haven't looked but I have the "intake whistle" that is an indicator of a torn boot.

Artificial disc. For the most part, raving success. Has its bad times, more good than bad.

they do artificial discs now!? I have been googling stuff like that but haven't seen anything. Usually its all spinal fusion. I don't have (bad) back problems now but I was curious to see what advancements were being made.

They sure do. It depends on situations whether the candidate is correct for the disc or fusion. Every situation is different. I was one of the lucky ones. Only downside to the disc, is the maintaining it. It requires injections every 8 months or so.

Just wanted to update y'all on my back, Friday afternoon I had an injection done on the artificial disc (supposed to do it every 6-8 months) put off this injection for 2 years! Feeling pretty sore today. But things are improving

Hope you find some relief and it is lasting. I've suffered with upper and lower Back pain for decades and have had too many needles inserted into it to count. I'm relatively w/out pain now though it does flare up now and again.
